It increases the duration of combatbooster, lovely one-shot deals that give you lovely bonusses and sometimes nasty side effects.
A Very closed off market, as 99% of the people in Eve haven't even heard of boosters. Which makes me a sad panda.

Or they've heard of them but live in hisec and never need them. Or they live in null and completely forget about them in spite of having trained biology and the "lessens/eliminates side effects" skills.

I can see the confusion but remember that combat boosters boost attributes...so they are in fact attribute boosters.
Train it to 5 if you plan on using combat boosters. Its rank 1. Worth the extra 20%.

I used them once and that one time it saved my triage carrier (and thereby our entire gang) against a larger hostile gang with dreads.

As a Drug Pusher, I'd like to add to this thread, there's also LEGAL boosters that are available on the market. Sure, they don't compare to the 'real thing' but a bonus is a bonus. For instance, Standard Exile ( the most basic illegal exile booster ), gives you a 20% bonus to armour repair. The legal version of this stuff is called 'Synth Exile', this one gives 3% bonus to armour repair, AND does NOT have side effects.

Interesting .. where can I find more info on legal boosters?
edit found it!
All except the synth boosters are illegal in high security space. Those illegal boosters will confiscated by the authorities once they get discovered in the cargohold of a ship. The pilot then has to pay a fee and will get imprinted by a standing loss. All of the synth boosters are legal.
Combat Booster Synth Boosted attribute Booster slot Blue Pill 3.00% shield boosting amount 1 Crash 3.00% missile explosion radius 1 Drop 3.00% tracking speed 1 Exile 3.00% armor repair amount 1 Frentix 3.00% optimal range 2 Mindflood 3.00% capcitor capacity 2 Sooth Sayer 3.00% falloff range 2 X-Instinct 2.25% signature radius 3

And makes me a very happy panda since Standard Exile or better is the only decent way to solo pvp anymore given I'm always fighting outnumbered.
