Low sec status people get color coding and a skull option. High sec status people get nothing.
By starting this thread I'm hoping to get that changed. The question is, what should high sec status people get?
- some overview icon? Star ftw :D - what about the color coding?
WHY? - because currently there are "rewards" for going low sec. The loss of access to high sec isn't really a big deal to any of the low sec people I know. .

Yes, carebears with high sec should be highlighted for easier ganking.

not only carebears have high sec status. Some successful gnakers I know graduated from popping every frigate they see to trash their standing for a bpc not worth crap. They'll run missions as well pretty regualr . A few benefits of this:
make money when slow. Some gankers learn it ain't worth killing everything, AE and worlds collide helps fill a wallet decent in between good targets.
keep status high to stay in empire, plus a nice buffer to go on a gank spreee when targets come more often.
case the system out but not in an obivious way. Yellow trasher in ov on station throws up some warning flags. CNR mission runner be the last person to put on player watch lists.
Overview doesn't need more colors...get in a busy 0.0 place and ov gets ugly as sin. Various blues for renters and pets of pets, red shades for war targets and people diplo's hate but haven't made war targets, fleet members, corp and alliance members in system not in fleet, ...does not need more color lol.

Edited by: Ravenal on 07/02/2011 20:31:33 Think about positive sec standing for a while like it was "someone who has killed people with negative sec status".
Still thinking carebearish or are you just stuck in the old way of thinking?
Edit: Exactly how CCP determines how sec status is lost and gained is their choice ... it just feels to me like it should be player based only because you lose sec status when shooting people and thus should only be gained by shooting people too. .

Ya I can get behind this.
Lose sec status for killing people in low sec, gain sec status for killing people with low sec status.
Remove sec status gains from NPC kills.
As long as it means ships with players flying them are getting blown up I can support it. Sarcasm - Because i'm too far away to strangle you. |

Whats wrong with having high sec included here?
Yes, remove sec stuff for npcs, the only thing that affects are corp standings.
And of course only ships piloted by players or at least aggressed with a pilot (for ejections). .

What is the point?????
If i'm a carebear I aleady can see who might shoot me.
If I'm hunting I don't give a **** if your a carebear or not. If I can kill you I will.
So why add another tag?

Sure you get flashy color after shooting hundreds of haulers farming lvl 4 courier missions in low sec. Or something equal like podding newb alts. Too bad the color doesn't make you any richer since they drop nothing of value and then you can bait hi sec heroes to aggro you at gates where you camp 23/7 with officer fitted bhaalgorns.
Srs.
I'm all in for adding flashy green background and bear logo for +5 ppl tho. As long as you can disable it.

My opinion: - NO for highlighting hi sec status. - YESYESYESPLEASE for inability to raise sec status by shooting npcs.
