hi guys, im at the point in my mission running/wealth/skills etc where i think i would like to create an alt on an extra account to help make more money while mission running.
first off, assume that i will always have a salvager (it would be the alt until it was skilled enough to fly lvl 4's solo, then it would be another alt account most likely).
what would be the best ship to train for with this character? i was thinking a drone boat due to the fact that it would take less concentration (so domi, and then down the road rattlesnake, or something like that) which might take slightly longer than my main to do the missions, but would still net more money overall than just doing missions on my main. OR would i do better training for something like tengu and nuking missions down actively on both accounts?
so yea, the plan was to accept missions on both toons, and do them seperately, unless of course it would be better to run them all together?
i also thought that the tengu idea might hold more resale value in the future if i decide that i cba with multiboxing anymore.
does anyone else do this? im sure there are those that do out there... if you do, what do you find the best way to do it?
(if the one toon tank, one toon dps idea is the best way (not so sure it is, but what do i know), then what would be a good combo? i currently fly a CNR, which isnt the tankyest of ships, but im fine with changing to a more tanky ship for that sort of situation.

I have squeezed a lot of mileage out of CNR + T2 sentry Domi.
It might work for you, it might not. The domi can provide remote cap/shield transfer for the CNR while simultaneously providing 5 T2 sentry drones as fire support.

I have a remote shield rep/T2 sentry (navy) domi as a wingman for my maelstrom. The mael warps in and draws aggro and the domi reps it and helps with the (f"#"/# awsome) T2 sentries. The domi can run 2 large transfers indef. On the odd chance that the domi gets aggro it can permarun 2 LAR2.
If this is really efficent I don't know, could be more efficent to have them do a mission each, but I like it this way.
Either you are for or against us, there simply is no other way |

I suggest running two tengus in a mission. jump both into the mission, have one follow the other turn on burners and shield reppers....watch the npc heads roll. this setup is quite fast actually without worrying too much about room aggro. two missile legions would be another good way to go, or 1 tengu and 1 missile legion.

like you said depends on how you play the game if you just want to concentrate on 1 toon then a sentry domi with reps is fine but if your acitvly playing both accounts another dps monster is best so CNR, mael, machariel, nightmare and the amarr one, i have really no idea as to me they dont have any clear defined roles in my eyes
dominix is a good choice because they make decent cheap pvp ships as well

This is a good plan. 2 DPS ships in separate missions > all. Lots of good ships have resale value, so this is a non issue. Multiboxing becomes trivially easy with time and also as a bonus makes things so much more interesting. I'd advise Mach for highsec, Tengu for low.

ok cheers for the replies guys.
im still not 100% sure atm, but its definitely between the domi and the tengu (though if i trained a character for domi use it could be converted to a mach easy enough later down the line).
my comment about resale value on the tengu pilot was more aimed at selling the character if i didnt like it later on, not the ship, as it seems that tengu pilots are pretty popular.

Gunship + droneship is the best combo imo.
Use "Guard" or "Assist" commands on alts drones. Droneships can easily have huge tanks too so second account needs minimal monitoring.

I have also found this to be an excellent setup for using an alt.

^This^
My current combo is a Maelstrom/Sentry Domi warp in release hounds draw aggro on Domi if I can if not set sentries to guard Maelstrom (unless it's a mission with triggers when I'll use assist) then pretty much forget about the Domi.
That setup tears through stuff like crazy.
Of course both characters have relatively high SP.
The first thing I'd target is training the alt to do hauling /market stuff to start with if you are starting a second account from scratch. Then once you get them able to do your logistical support start training them into a Sentry Domi.
