so i would like to build a rorq in a C3 within the next few months, and i was wondering what a good POS fit would be to do that in? i assume you need a large tower to use it, however i had heard that you can do it in a med.
so what would a good fit be and about how much does it cost to keep a med (or large) POS fueled per week?
cheers

If you do PI in the WH, the cost of a large tower will be negligible. I supply a large tower, plex's and have money to burn each month from my PI. Monthly fuel for a large tower is like 200+ million a month?
That being said. Stick the Rorq in a large deathstar, because anything else can be picked apart and that Rorq will become someone's km. There is no such thing as a medium deathstar to a determined foe.

Use a large. Everything else will be attacked and destroyed above C1.

I assume that you already have the C3? If not, you might think about 'upgrading' to C4. But back to the original question...
Use a large tower, probably a Large Minmatar or Large Amarr. Make sure you fuel the tower completely and anchor sufficient defenses. Most Large towers just aren't worth the effort to take out, especially in a system with no static hi-sec access. Are you planning on mining/refining the minerals in the WH? That can take quite a while, so you may need to set up shop and mine/refine for weeks. If you are hauling in, that can also be annoying...you will need to haul massive amounts of trit and pyerite into the C3 through (I assume) at least one other w-space system.

i dont have the time (uni is a bugger) or the patience/want to it haha
i live in a C2 atm and was considering building a rorq in there since even at one gravi spawn/month thats about 3bil in abc+jaspet and kernite, which would pay for the skillbooks, rorq, and fuel, and C2s arent in as much want as C3s so its slightly safer, but im sure i would regret it one day

If you build a Rorq, have a dedicated ship maint. hangar for it. Either log off in the Rorq or park it in the hangar, so it is not blatantly obvious there is a Rorq. Also, take down the component array and x-large ship array when construction is done and haul them out....

yup that would be the plan, woudlnt want undue attention to a POS

PI is easy now, just set it for 7-14 day cycles. Check it on the day you actually have 30 minutes to run it all.
One thing I'm not sure of is if you can cloak a Rorqual and still get the bonuses. I'd definitely follow the advice for it having it's own SMA or logging out in it, though multiple SMA's can be sort of fun to poke.
If you build it, expect to haul massive amount of minerals into the WH. Unless you are running multiple mining accts or doing large gangs with friends, I'd assume(incorrectly?) that gas harvesting, anoms and sigs(Mag/Radar) would pay more for less effort unless you already got those down.

Can't be cloaked to use gang links.
Rorqual 10%/level bonus also only applies when in deployed mode, so it costs about 180k/hour to run sitting safe in POS force field.

The Rorq runs on heavy water, which is cheap as....water? I assume the 180k above is correct, I have not done more than look at the math, compare to hauling/refining losses, and say 'hell, ya!"
Honestly, it takes a long time to pay for the Rorq, but don't let that deter you. If you have an actual corp with multiple warm bodies, you can destroy a grav site in a very short time (leaving a rock or so and hoping for respawn). A grav site will pull in from 1 - 3 billion, I would guess, depending on WH level. If you refine, you lose 25%, vs the 0-5% in hi sec. This would be ~200 mil to 600 mil per grav site in 'return' for you investment. The refining in the WH is a PITA, as well, and it takes forever, it also costs hvy water for CPU (plus a small amount of ozone), and you have to keep shoveling the crap in there.

which is where the Rorq's compression abilities come in..
1. Mine 2. Compress 3. ??? 4. profit!

Cost per hour = 12,000 * (1 - Capital Industrial Ships * 0.05) * (1 - Industrial Reconfiguration Skill * 0.05) * Unit Price of Heavy Water
At 20 ISK/unit for Heavy Water it is 173,400 ISK/hour at my Rorqual alt's level 3 skills.
