The "windows" in the DED complex list are pretty obvious. Serpentis have none between 4/10 and 10/10(having both the 3/10 and 4/10 in highsec has made me a rich newbie in the past). Has CCP ever shed some insight regarding their choice for wich faction gets what rated plexes?
It seems somewhat unbalanced, especially since the numbers also seem to be somewhat sqewed, Sansha only getting four of them (Yes,i've seen that drones only have it up to 5, and three in total, but who runs those?). However, since I spent my days scanning only in sansha and gurista space (wich have rather similar representation on the list), I don't know how that feels.
At this point, it looks like ever since the rehauling of the whole system we're pretty much stuck with these things, with no chance of new plexes being created whatsoever. Wich is kind of a bummer. Care to share your opinions?

While scanning, I'll complete the hidden DED 3/10 Rogue Drone Asteroid Infestation plexes whenever I find them.
I mainly do those sites for the Overseer boxes since they can be completed very quickly. Also the Alloys, Compounds and Ore loot is great since I rarely ever do any mining. Last but not least, it's sort of a surprise to see what loot will be in the Overseer can in the last room. At various different times, I've got either regular low level stock modules, high meta level modules or Pirate Faction modules.
As for the amount and level of DED rated plexes for each Faction, yeah, it's unbalanced. Especially since Angels don't have any hidden DED Deadspace Complexes to be found with scanning like Sansha, Guristas, etc.

Yes they [Angels] do, just not in high sec...
I'm not sure how I feel about the "gap." While it sucks that you can't get each level from each faction, at the same time it is a way to "make some space better than other."
Quite honestly though, I'd like to see all the static plexes moved to the exploration system, and the gaps filled for all factions.
And DED 4/10 should be moved to only low sec.

It seems to me that plexing is one of those parts of the game that has been abandoned by the devs :( (the exploration rehaul was in 2009, with Apocrypha.)
Would LOVE some new stuff about empire/0.0 exploration.(Yes, i know, I agree, wormholes are completely awesome, i just don't have the time needed to take part in them :( )

Plexes haven't gotten much love because quite frankly they don't absolutely need it. The system works well and there's nothing hugely wrong with it.
This is also true for wormhole space.
So while there is tons of room for improvement and expansion on both fronts, it is highly unlikely that there will be any large changes for quite some time simply as a result of prioritizing.

I'm not gonna start discussing the advantages of new features versus refining older stuff, contrary to a lot of opinions FW seems to be going pretty well. Yes, plexes seem just right the way they are, but once you've seen them all, that's it.
Speaking of improvements,I have a huge beef with radar and magnetometric sites in 0.0, I find their spawn mechanics to be a huge pain in the ass.
It's not because I can't solo them, it's because even with an alt I have to go around killing useless waves after waves of rats, with the cans locking out during the fight. This discourages the use of another newbie player to do the hacking, analyzing and salvaging, because you don't want to get the guy blown up.Who knows, maybe i'm just lazy but I find the way they spawn to be tedious and frustrating.

Do DED plexes still exist in Null-sec?
I wasnt sure what the mechanic now is with the change to 'system upgrades'. Previously certain systems in null had a greater propensity for spawning a DED plex than other ones.
or has it changed to anomolies only?

There has never been an era when "certain systems in null had a greater propensity for spawning a DED plex than other ones." There was that pirate entrapment array, but I remember hearing it was quite buggy (though that might have simply been people misunderstanding how the RNG works).
DED plexes still exist as do non-rated plexes in null. You simply hear about anomalies more now because they are what ratting used to be in null: the primary income source for the average Joe. People still rat of course, but anomalies are a better income source.

Crap, I didn't realize this was a policy. And here I had my guys making new DED complexes for the last month.
Or maybe this is that "messaging" thing community and marketing keep telling me I should do.

Of course there is also the issue of some plexes in certain regions (yes region specific) are harder than plexes from another region despite their being the same "rating" (8/10, 10/10)

well a nice improvement would be, that plexes dont spawn region specific anymore - new tactics everyday

Getting awesomely trolled in my favourite forum by the dev with the coolest name ever.
There are no words to describe just how good I feel about this.
I also feel that I need to ellaborate on my beef regarding mag and radar sites. I have nothing against the number of rats, just against the way they are spawned, it would be a lot better if ALL the enemy ships would be there when you warp in, leaving the cans ripe for plucking after the defenders are space dust.
Edit: word on the street was that, before the pirate entrapment arrays, there was no difference between 0.0 regions regarding the spawn rate and density of combat signatures and DED plexes.
It was all just the "normal" algorithm for sorting them out( a complex respawn in another system in the same region/constellation some time after its completion, however nobody can be certain about these things). The effect of sov upgrades has been so far very, very hard to discern, and we only have the game's word for it about how and IF it works.

I love you CCPBDO, if I contract you a plex can you manage to get it redeemed for a beer or 3? I'd buy you a beer at FF but not going this year sadly.
/cheers for exploration love!

While you have your minions working on new 'plexes, how about you revisit the size requirements. It doesn't seem to make much sense to allow T3 Cruisers into some, but not T1 BCs. Gating by ship type just isn't as useful now as it was back at the dawn of 'plexes.

Sure it does, it makes it much more likely I get to run a 3/10.

These jackals aren't even on my team anymore. They're off on other awesome(though not as awesome as mine) content projects.
Expect more DED information in the form of a dev blog or some similar witchcraft in the coming weeks. Right now I'm too busy fiddling with this DED7of10Blood.doc.
