So, are you saying that this is the start of the next expansion, and that the next expansion wont have any major features?
Nice to hear you have so much spare time, but like.. there was this thing called walking in stations that you were on about...

I like the idea. Was hoping that at least one item on the list would jump out at me as a 'oh thank GOD they're finally fixing that' but I'll settle for baby steps. Good job CCP. (With PLEX prices down a fair bit I'm choosing to believe that you're making SOME effort to combat bots/macros. Who could know whether that's true or not.)

Team BFF is just one of several scrum teams. While they will concentrate on smaller fixes, there are other scrum teams working on the major features like Incarna (Walking in Stations).

No, we're not that lucky.
The WoD alpha... er I mean, "major feature" still has more than half the devs at CCP working on it.
This is why we have to rage and beg for minor bugfixes and balance changes.

Thanks CCP for this chance to get some little things out of the way.
Ship Info Window - Why does the ship info window not have the name of ship in bold letters on top of it. Eve has over 200 ships, the name of the ship as headline in the description would realy be good.
Short Cuts - I like the new organization of the short cuts. - Setting the starbase forcefield password is a short cut I miss, the hands are on the keyboard anyways to type in the password. - Launch drones with multiple shortcuts, to be able to launch a specific group of drones is missing too.
Drone Handling - Add the option assist, guard or repair a person in fleet to the persons context menu. - The drones could be a bit more aggressiv. If the drones are launched they should instantly attack the attacker and not wait for some event which usually never happens in time.
Market Window - For large groups of items the market window takes forever to build up. Seperate the item info from the price info. Add the meta level to the item description in the market and do not show any prices on the overview and let the buy button disappear.
POS - The intensive refining array needs a large POS to run it, but can not even handle the output of a single Hulk. A refining array can process 200.000 m3 every 3 hours, a Hulk mines 150.000 m3 every hour. This and the lousy yield makes the intensive refining array pretty much useless. The consequence is, that transporting compressed low end ores to high sec and refining there with 100% yield and bringing back complete ships is the most effective way of null sec production. The intensive refining array should at least process 2.000.000 m3 ore in one go every three hours, and deliver 100% yield with good skills. The ability to refine loot should be put on top of it, this would definitely boost null sec production. And of course a warning that the refined minerals and ice products will eventually exceed the refining arrays capacity.
Chat Windows - Would it be possible to mute the local chat window. I am especially not interested in the scammers from Jita, or some lag in fleet battles because of local smack talk. I do not want them to use up my bandwidth. - Would it be possible to have a clear chat button for the chat windows? - Would it be possible to have a clear fleet chat button for the fleet boss?

First of all...
I came.
Now that we've cleared that up, I agree (as I did in the bugreport that you deleted) that the new shortcuts are not only more worthless than a condom machine in the vatican, but they have introduced client-side lag that it causing problems with ship control. It's not that we don't understand the architecture you were going for with the new shortcut system. We get it. We really do. It's just that it's stupid as hell. Stop defending it and fix it. Thank you.
Apart from that, I'm overjoyed at what this blog is suggesting. Papercuts is really my largest concern with EVE and I often worry about the future of the game because of it (among certain other things). That said, if you blueball us on this then... Well... There's no helping some people.
Anyway, I want to support you in this effort, so I will say that you should seriously use the CSM crowdsourcing list for input (use the sorted by popularity list, please... :/) as well as the papercuts thread. I will also make a point of resuming my old habit of writing down the s*** that annoys me for no reason or doesn't work right in an itemized list while I play. I'll try to post the results in papercuts for you weekly. The vast majority of the problems in the game are quick fix-able... Even in the cthonic labyrinth of spaghetti code that I picture as the EVE source.
SO!
You have my support in this. (As well as a lot of other people I know who are too 'cool' to use the forums.) Thank you.

Drawing from my experince with that mmo that should not be named, I like many of the things the its UI could do, specially with addons. In this context, the ability to run several channels/convos in the same window. The tabbing part we already have. Due to the nature of the intel role, that the member list in the local chat plays, understandably that needs to run in a window of its own. But everything else can be sufficiently managed with multichannelling and a few tabs.
You have an idea of how hard is to keep up with several information channels like those all the 0.0 Alliance use when you can differentiate them only by tag and colors?

Originally by: Lockefox BPO v BPC: There is no differentiation in assets. All I ask for is for a carrot system (similar to t2/faction/officer) that would make it quick and painless to sort out BPO's among a hanger full of BPC's.
You may recall this dev blog from October last year, when we moved from a 32-bit to a 64-bit Inventory System in Tyrannis 1.2. The deployment of the 64-bit Inventory System allowed us to start considering a differentiation between BPO and BPC in locations such as your hangar without incurring a performance impact. (If you were truly paying attention then I said so here...)
But more was needed than just 64-bit identifiers, we needed to be able to distinguish between different context-specific types of singleton objects (non-stackable objects). As an example, in general then the singleton flags -1 and -2 just mean that the object is a singleton. But in the context of a blueprint then -1 could be interpreted by the client as a BPO and -2 as a BPC. The Inventory System doesn't have to look this up in side-tables (no extra server or DB load) and all the work of interpreting what -1 and -2 mean is offloaded to the clients.
We started on this work along with a lot of other cleanup, performance enhancements and hardening of the Inventory System and it will be released soon to Tranquility, providing the foundation for differentiating between BPOs and BPCs. Some more code is needed to make that happen so I can't promise any dates but the foundation is there.
"Some of the preceding statements are forward-looking and do not constitute a promise of a delivery of said feature at a certain date."
Could the fix be something as simple as tying it to the # of licensed runs remaining? For a BPO it's always infinite, and for a BPC it varies. So an If Then Else statement could assign the proper tag, assuming the coding language you use for inventory would work with one:
"If ProductionRuns = Infinite; Then ItemFlag = Original.jpg
Else ItemFlag = Copy.jpg
End If"

What about mining mission? They are not even attractive to mission runner. They take a LONG time at 45 mins in a maxxed out hulk/mackinaw at level 4 for merely 2 million ISK 3 year ago. Why are they taking so long to fix? 3 year old thread and the problem is still present! Either completely remove them and add new ones. Or change them completely so you have a reason to stop mine trit in highsec. Right now as they stand they are just not worth your time compare to a level 4 combat mission or real asteroid mining.

Allow stacking of items in the personal assets window.
-> Background: I have stuff in an enemy Outpost which i formely had access to. So i have a lot of unstacked items there (e.g. missiles and stuff). When i want to sell them remotely there are a lot of small stacks of items. If i could stack them they would be far less.

"Eve Barbie" as you say isn't being worked on by Eve Developers, it's being worked on by CCP Core Tech Developers. That is why the Eve Devs don't have much to do as the next expansion is is being done by other non-Eve devs. There will need to be Eve devs to integrate walking in stations but that leaves a lot with not much to do.
Remember CCP is a games company, Eve is just one of their games, Eve wasn't their first nor the lasted one. CCP have Devs working on other games, these people are not Eve devs!
Sometimes it's like talking to a brick wall.

With respect to remote repairing ships, I applaud the good intentions of CPP. Less pleased am I that they did not read, listen or think things trough and wend to implement something inadequate for the issue at hand.
Realize that there are multiple ways a ship actively can support another ship and thus can inherit concord aggression (which is the real issue here):
* Remote repairs (shield or armor) * Capacitor transfer * Remote sensor boosting * Remote tracking enhancing * Remote ECCM projection
As I understand only a fix for the first on the list is implemented, thus that won't fix what the Incursion players experienced with concord. If only the first two on this list were fixed (the 2nd is NOT mentioned in the blog), then it covers MOST issues, but not all.
And by not fixing the other issues, you limit the tactics that can be used and certain special tactical roles. Take the scimitar for example, a logistics ship and designed to fill the role of remote tracking enhancing. This ship is pretty much downgraded to shield transfer only, without having the capacitor to fill that role properly.
What I proposed (and got no DEV reply on, shame on CCP) was to not make criminal aggression transferable from player to player in incursion sites. You could have done it for all of high sec and be completely done with all the issues you can dream up. Concord will kill a targeted ship anyway and tanking concord is a ban able offense in case that fails.
I ain't sure what the devs read on the forums and what made them think that remote repair shutoff is anywhere near a fix for the issues they think to combat, but it is not!!!
I posted these insights before in the Features and Ideas section, as you ran read here:
http://www.eveonline.com/ingameboard.asp?a=topic&threadID=1457458
There is a fix, but it entails implementing exactly as I proposed and it is far simpler then module specific fixes!

I knew there was a reason why it is only on SiSi that I am ever seen in 0.0.
ANYWAY, clue for mr ihaveyousetredandthushateyou:
Noone is suggesting, unless you read stuff that isnt there, taking away any of the current capabilities. What is suggested, is that running multiple channels in the same window/tab is added to the current system. So you can use it if you want. If it got across to you as taking away what you currently have, you got it wrong. I was for the sake for argument trying to point out that people had a reasonable request, by flipping the reasoning in the "hell no, i want to keep 10 windows" argument upside down.
Imagine you get a rightclick on each tab, where there will be a submenu with a checkbox for each channel/convo you have open, to include/exclude viewing it in that tab.
Having chat prefixes for talking to specific channels without changing tab/window focus, like: /l for local /c for corp /a for alliance /f for fleet add more if you can come up with good ones.
I find your example messages, everything lumped together only separated by colour, a show of extreme lack of imagination and suggest you have never used tabs with different filters. Being able to get a feed from several source into the same window is very useful, and it can easily be done far better than only having one, with everything mashed in. So is not being forced to, as you very pointedly point out, but that ought to be extremely obvious, so I didnt feel the need to include that view.
The big deal is having the choice to go either way, when and where you need it. Every channel/convo STILL needs it own tab/window.
But * If people want to get a feed from channel x and y in every window, LET THEM. * If they only want it in tab/window p, q and r, LET THEM. Example could be getting a copy of the fleet chat in any convo window. Maybe in your case in every "information" channel as you call it. * If they, like you, dont want it anywhere, LET THEM.
Don't tell them that they are not allowed to, just because you prefer it another way.
Is that clear enough for?

I posted this in assembly hall so I'll repost it here in hopes of seeing it added since this is a small request!
Science & Industry Planetary Tab Overhaul
As it stands this tab gives very little information. In fact, all it gives is the number of installations present. I'm proposing that each planet listed have a drop-down box that gives useful information without having to view the planet in planet mode.
For example, it would be nice if I didn't have to switch to planetary view to:
* See how much of the launcher cargo space is used, and by what ( silos too I guess, but who uses them? )
* See the program time remaining for the extractors
I would also like to:
* See how much Customs space is used

One change I would really like to see has to do with the skill training queue... It would be much more useful if instead of checking for pre-requisites to be completed before you inject the skill, do your checking at the moment it is next in the queue. Then simply skip over it if the player doesn't meet the requirements. In this way, people that have a plan to train through the pre-requisites first can then carry the plan on through unattended with the one they really want instead of having to wait to the exact moment that they can now inject and train the real skill they are after.
Thanks, Xenopolis

To address the "what is/isn't included?" concerns: The changes involve shutting down any assistance effect, not just remote reps. This include cap transfer and so on. It also includes drones that use these effects - your logistics drones will have their effects shut off in the same way as your own ship.
So, don't worry. Your scimitar (and her drones) will still be fully effective. -- Team Gridlock: Herding electronic cats since 2010 |

*****Market changes******
for people who have lots of buy/sell orders it would really nice to be able to have a function that simply allows you to refresh the orders all at once to prevent them running out, rather than having to do them one at a time.
So for instance, if you are still happy with the prices of your orders and simply want to stop them expiring you could just have a function that alters all selected orders say by .01 isk, all at once! That really would make life a lot easier.
