Forgive me if this has been requested before but thinking back to the old Tribes 2 days or even Starcraft II now, the ability to record live ingame events to play back at any time to see exactly how something went down, what things looked like, and an overall much better way to experience an epic battle or gathering without having to have been there to relive the moment. It would of course have to be client based but how hard would it be to record the basic bits of the recording players grid with possible option to show his mods, chat, or anything at all to be saved for others to download the file and just playback within their eve client. It would of course have to be played back to look as if you were in the players shoes (but of course doing this while in space would probably not work/be a bad idea). This would allow the viewer to have any view angle/perspective he/she would choose and be able to take a detailed look on what is going on at other points on the field that might have been missed in a fraps video. On top of it all this would be a much more effective way to fraps things for making videos at a later date since you could work to get the right angle, shot, etc. A rewind/FF option would be nice but would not be required to enjoy these recordings.
Anyway if it has been covered and put to rest then let it be, if not then I hope something like this may be implemented in the future. I know my rig can handle any sort of extra load it may cause what with a SSD and 75% of my cpu stil free while running EVE. |

Two things: 1) Wall of text strike you for insane damage. You seem to average one full stop every 3 lines.
2) Commonly proposed idea, you did check before posting didn't you as required by the rules?

Ah crap. Don't post often enough to have the whole forum typing style down properly yet.
Yes I looked into it a bit but think I was using the wrong search terms to land on the one you linked. That topic is almost if not exactly what I was thinking of.
Well either way just another post pushing for its incorporation. With a Sandbox game such as EVE, being able to record all the epic moments that happen would make archiving all the good times a bit easier and much more enjoyable to go back and relive/experience. |

Recorder
I use X-Fire all the time for video recording, but I am still aiming at an ingame recorder that we can playback ingame content where you can move the camera, focus on whatever the original recorder could himself, and overall relive the experience first person. |
