I don't know if I did this correctly.
My game is on my M drive.
I dropped the bik's into:
C:\Users\%Username%\AppData\Local\CCP\EVE\m_ccp_eve_tranquility\cache\CQScreenVideos
but all I get is sort of a "blank" screen. It looks like there may be a fog moving around the edges.
The default videos were playing before I dropped them in that folder. I restarted the game and now nothing is playing.

Tallian Saotome wrote:For some of those having issues with choppy sound, are you doing conversions while you watch in CQ? My sound/video seems to do it when I have multiple conversions eating my CPU. Also, if you are using the /LUA:OFF switch(alot of client managers use this), the location of the files will be different.
One more note, the location of the cache varies slightly with the name of the logged in character as well.
I got a video to work but the sound was slowed down slightly plus the sound/video had a slight skip or something to it occasionally.
I know nothing about A/V stuff but tried to convert YouTube stuff, supposedly either in flv/mp4 formats, to one of the formats that Bink can convert to bik but none of my attempts worked. I would get an error opening file message in Bink. |

be sure you are including the audio when converting to bik. I am finding even having that check box marked doesn't always work with flv/mp4/etc files from YouTube so I am looking at TPB for avi versions (like the music videos on YouTube but on TPB in avi). Fortunately I found HQ versions of the files I want but they are in mkv so now I have to educate myself on finding an easy to use mkv to Bink usable files to convert to bik.

HeavensGuard wrote:what settings should be used in that RAD Video Tools ? im using videos that should work like Eve trailers and i have turned them into .bink files using the default settings on RAD, is that wrong ? cause the videos play in my CQ but they're buggy, the sound is messed up and the video is blocky... but when i just play the same file out of eve it plays fine
Conversion from mkv>xxxx>bik is a problem though unless I am doing it wrong. Also I can't seem to get mp4>bik right or something. Conversion either crashes RAD or just gives error opening file. |

Unfortunately many times the sound goes out of sync or the video/sound goes slower. The sound on some files also is much lower than viewing normally. I just tried to watch Clone Wars season 4 ep 3 and the voices sound a little sloowweerr soo I gaavve uuupp. |

I bet you two are using Norton, or using two AV at the same time, or some other crap.
Bink/Smack are fine. That company has existed for over a decade.
You probably have something already on your computer, or getting a false positive. |
