I'm not sure I totally understand the upgrade on clones. I currently have Infomorph Psychology at L4 and I have 4 clones plus the pod/clone I am currently in. When I upgrade my clone to cover skill points, Do I have to upgrade each of my 4 "jump" clones individually or do I just have to make sure my medical clone is updated?
When I'm killed (which isn't very often) do I drop into my medical clone or into one of my "jump" clones? If it is ONLY my medical clone, I always have to update it? The update I had done previously is gone with my destroyed clone?
Sorry if i'm sounding entirely too noobish at this. I don't PVP often at all
Having 2 types of clones is a a bit confusing when I'm told I need to "update" to cover SP. I think CCP needs to make that difference a bit more clear

Jump clones are an extra copy of you, and they do not interfere with your normal clones.
If you are killed, you will spawn in the station your normal clone is based at. This clone will now act as whatever jump clone you were in, when you were killed, only difference will be lost implants.
You do not lose jump clones, but you need to upgrade your normal clone again everytime you are killed.
There is no need to upgrade each jump clone individually

When you get podded, you always go to your medical clone. You should always keep you medical clone at an SP level above your own SP, and you should always update your medical clone immediately after being podded.
That's all there is to it, and as you have noticed, jump clones don't come into it at all. No matter what body (jumpclone) you are in, you will go to your medical clone which has to cover all your SP.
Check my guide to jumpclones [PDF] for more details.

You only have to update your Medical clone, the others are, well, clones and so exact copies. When your pod is destroyed, you return to your Medical clone, which has then to be upgraded again. Simples.

OK Thanks for the replies guys. Much appreciated. The only way to access my medical clone is to get podded i take it then? but I can upgrade at anytime (preferably immediately) after getting podded then. Got it. Thanks again

Correct: this is commonly known as "pod jumping". It can actually be a very convenient way to travel from point A to point B if you don't mind paying for the clone. Furthermore, IIRC, you can install a medical clone at your corporation HQ regardless of that station's owner or location. So if you dock in a system with a medical facility - you can change your medical clone location to your corporation HQ and pod yourself to instantly travel to your HQ. ----------

You can also update them before you get podded, which you should do after your SP exceeds the medical Clones limit.
Mentioning this as it confused me at first.

Don't think of them as clones. Your "medical clone" is where your rez point is. Your jump clones are your "teleport points." You can teleport to 4 locations, and if you die you rez in one location.

Basicly this, except that you can have up to 5 jump clones / "teleport locations".
