Back in the days of EVE Revelations II, they both shared a client and you could choose which one you logged into. -- As an Amarr Defector, I chose to become a Mercenary and Industrialist. I also have one goal in mind: Create a new age of peace and prosperity for all four empires. |

And then they changed it, and they liked the new version better so they didn't revert back to the old method.

One of the reasons were that people confused the two servers, accidentally connected to Singularity, patched their client and was unable to get back to Tranquility and found that they had to reinstall the game after contacting customer support.

Amaroq, this is the third time you've asked this same question here; the answer isn't going to change by repeatedly asking it

Having been in IT for only 10 years, i can say i have never seen a live and test database shared by the one client install.
How hard can it be to copy and paste a folder, a shortcut and to add 20 characters to the shortcut?

Or even Copy and pasting it too! lol.
But yeah, I agree. Just copy and paste TQ files to a different folder, rename shortcut then run sisiclient.exe.
As the thread before you made, you did get an answer. It was basically the same thing as now. But maybe this will help. It can't be done because if it did, the client would have to share data. Doing so while having changes to Sisi could cause serious issues with TQ as it's trying to read duplicate data while being different. It just can't happen.
It would be like if two alternate realities collided. It may have worked before, but eve has evolved a great deal since then, there is more code and the client is far different then the original.

I think I know how to combine the two servers without difficulty:
You make them share a client, and you give the client a main folder with shared files and subfolders, as well as two addditional sub folders, one for Singularity and one for Tranquility. Thien when you download a patch, it goes into the proper subfolder. There could also be a Subfolder for Multiplicity, but let's not worry about that one right now. One advantage to this is less room will be needed than if you had multiple clients, as well as less trouble. -- As an Amarr Defector, I chose to become a Mercenary and Industrialist. I also have one goal in mind: Create a new age of peace and prosperity for all four empires. |

That is not accurate, you would not need less room because you still need two full clients. And this does not deal with the situation when you have TQ and Singularity running the same build. Or the existence of multiple test servers.

Yeah, but for files that are alike for both clients, they could share folders for that. If one gets different files, then you include a new subfolder with those files. Simple. Au contraire, Sir; Monsieur Dricaldari has already retorted to this henious accusation:

But I do know ALOT about computers...*snip*...I know how computers work, wether [sic] you like it or not. I bet you couldn't tell me how to make a MUCH faster computer by simply using a different material. Specifically because you need to know what material to use. I am not stupid, and I am not on of those annoying 6-year-old internet kids either. So you could at least do us all a favor by not treating me like one.
I think you will find that this post addresses all your concerns about Amaroq and his blatantly superior knowledge of both hardware AND software issues of any and all kinds.
