Hows about a module you can put on yer own ship that will prevent members of your OWN fleet from jumping thru the gate....and then you have to self destruct your ship to move again! ---------------------------------------------

Imagine you are amassing a fleet at a game, pumped for battle, half you players are stoned, the other half are drunk, no one is listening to the FC, then one guy who just go done staring at his roommate picking his naval hair looks back at the screen and thinks "crap I missed something and jumps!" so he won't be left behind. Then seeing the flash on the screen, your drunk players start jumping because "I thought we were jumping ..." and "oh sorry man, I just get bored, can't we fight" and the whole process triggers one by one lemmings leaping off a hill to their deaths ... because they are going bald, oops ... go off topic.

So a module, which I put on my own ship and which prevents my fleet members from jumping through the gate and then I have to self destruct my ship to move again? Fantastic idea! How didn't I think of this before? The possibilities!

Good evening everyone!
Table of contents 1.0 Introduction 1.1 LBM details 1.11 How the LMB works 2.0 Credits
1.0 Introduction
This is the greatest idea you have ever heard. I'm of course talking about Lemming Blocker -module (LBM henceforth). This idea was created by the one of our greatest minds in EVE: The infamous Chib. I take no credit in this since he has such detailed and comprehensive explanation, but I'm offering my help to bring this idea to people of EVE and CCP.
1.1 LBM details
The LBM is a command module, which helps fleet commander, wing commander or even possibly squad commander to control his group. LBM is a midslot module and can be fitted on any ship, like cynosural generator. It would narrow-minded to reduce the usage to certain type of ships, such as command ships or capital ships. The t1 version uses 1 PG and 30 CPU and t2 version 1 PG and 40 CPU which both are reasonable. Activation on both versions use only fuel in the cargobay, t2 version a bit less than t1. Here are the consumption amounts:
T1: 200 units heavy water, 3 units of coolant, 20 units of mexallon and 2 units of exotic dancers T2: 150 units heavy water, 3 units of coolant, 10 units of mexallon and 1 unit of exotic dancers
1.11 How the LBM works
As I said before, LBM is a command module and is only used in fleets and by fleet commander, wing commander or possibly even squad commander. Fleets usually travel around quite much and mostly through normal gates. LBM will help the commander control the movement of the fleet.
Once activated by fleet commander, the fleet cannot jump through a gate. The fleet commanders ship will also become stuck so he cannot move. Any of his modules won't also work. He can escape this situation only by self-destructing his ship. Once he has self-destructed, he can start moving again and the fleet may jump through any gate again.
LBM has infinite duration so it carries even over DT's and it continues even if the FC has logged off. This way FC can control people even during DT and prevent them from trying leave system and the battle right after DT. Also when LBM is activated, the fleet members cannot leave the fleet and it prevents the mechanic of DT disassembling the fleet.
Now you may think: "What prevents the fleet members from shooting the FC?" Well, nothing, except he might be sitting in unpropeable ship in a safespot. That should put the fleet members in their places.
2. Credits
I take no credit in this. All thanks and adoration should go to Chib, the creator of this idea! I can almost hear the thousands of players and CCP employees wailing in excitement! Thank you Chib!

so this is the commander immobilization module. Just in case you want a module that does nothing important or useful. |

Why not just have an option to surrender your ship control to the FC, and FC gets Homeworld style control of all ships in his fleet. With new interface options to allow easy target assignments, multiple ship selection and group ship commands
then you could also save on lag as 200x200 battle could become a 1x1 RTS game.
