Wardecks need a overhaul, but I dont think this is the solution
At the moment, it appears to me that if you dont PvP in EVE your kinda regarded as waste of space, - Carebear - And as such your fair target for all.... regardless if your in noob-corp or in your own-tax-haven corp

REALLY GOOD POINT TIPPIA. Could it be a "solution" to make everyone starting a new corp have aninformation screen with all the consequences like wardecs, fees and stuff. So if they get wardecced, they've known the risk.
IT would actually TELL new people what can happen if they have a own corp.
Sounds good to me.
Thanks for the input.
Again, could that be a solution, no changes to game mechanics, just an info popup where everything is listed that can happen to you! Wardecs without a reason, fees to pay, Infos about alliances, corp hangars, offices and so on.
It will for sure make some people think twice then, and make them read about founding a corp.

eat their cake and have it too*
Both ways are commonly used.
But only one means what everyone who says that is trying to get across.
If you have cake, of course you can eat it too. But if you eat your cake, you don't have it anymore.
~No matter what happens, somebody will find a way to take it too seriously.~

simply no, easily abused.
Wardecs need objectives, failure objectives mostly. This means that once the failure objective is made by the decced corp the war ends.
Also success objectives ... like, kill x amounts of ship worth or something. The higher amount you select the lower your fail objective becomes or something. .

Maybe it is just me but before I sign up to pay for playing a game I do a little research and find out what the game is about. I read up on it and check out the forums that are available to see what people who do play it are doing and saying.
I did this when I started Eve and so when the Decks came I was at the very least not surprised by them. I knew when I joined the corp that we might get decked and we did. Often in fact.
I guess my point is that if other people signed up and formed a corp without doing the slightest amount of forum reading then I don't have alot of sympathy for them. One just has to be a little smarter then that.

Originally by: foxnod Frankly the real problem with eve isn't that noobs can be wardeced. It's that it's to easy to avoid pvp.
Amen! With warp-to-zero, huge docking radii, invulnerability while docking/undocking, warp stabs, maneuverability thrusters -- if someone doesn't want to get caught and knows what they're doing, they simply won't get caught. Sorry, but right now EvE is already heavily slanted for the noob/carebear populace.
Want PvP? There are more than enough lowsec, nullsec and w-space systems with players waiting for you. Oh wait, obviously you're scared of real PvP and prefer attacking industrialists or players with 10x less SP than you...
I bow to you, oh mighty PvP ace.
Meow.

Originally by: Jokerface666 BTW: would it be a good idea to talk over with CCP to make all new players introduced to EVE University in the tutorial? PROS: 1. They instantly see the benefits from beeing in a player corp (More people would keep playing after the Ttrial) 2. Protection from Highsec Wardecs 3. When they feel ready, they can start a corp on theyr own CONTS: 1. EVE-University Member Count exploding 2. EVE-University could use them as a giant meatball to roll over LS / NS corps and alliances
What if some select corporations or alliances (i.e., they'd have to petition CCP for the privellage) automatically got new players when they start, instead of shunting them into an NPC corp?

Edited by: Shoopa Whoopa on 26/02/2011 19:03:37 Eve University has arbitrary rules. You can't impose those onto new players (even if they make sense).
They must join by choice, hence why a popup informing newbs of the implications of player run crops makes a lot of sense. It could suggest Eve-Uni, but nothing more.

No, both do. One is just more in tune with the every-day use of "have", but that's not the its only use and meaning.

No, because then you stop having it. ùùù ôIf you're not willing to fight for what you have in ≡v≡à you don't deserve it, and you will lose it.ö ù Karath Piki |

The 'too' is the problem, is it not? If it was 'If you have cake, of course you can eat it' it doesn't imply the ownership remaining with the cake-possessor after eating it, since having and eating are exclusive of each other.
(not a native speaker, lol, and I didn't click the link)

This does seem to create a class of untouchable corps. Suddenly the number of pos holding corps in high sec would go up.. can't have those wardecced for removal. The number of macro looking miners in solo corps would rise as well.
This would not be a desirable change.
Quote: 3. Deccing corp needs the wardec fee ISK too
This sentence is confusing.
