Showing mercy to spies is like asking for trouble. Now FIX is sending the message that goes "Want to spy on us? No problem, just come in a noob ship so it won't hurt when we nuke it and let you go in your pod."
Ah well, guess that's life

Wow vashy do you actually read the posts you respond to... check the name of the poster... does that look like an npc alt to you???
CmdrRat is an Evolution enemy pilot who came down to 9cg to scout for his fleet and his ship got blown up in the process. I think he outlines the incident very nicely. FIX pilots got chatting with him in local and in respect for that we allowed him to vacate FIX space unharmed. It is meant of a sign of respect for your foe... guess you have no concept of that.

Take your own advice, you're babbling about things that make no sense.
And showing respect to your foes does not equal wisdom. From a strategic point of view, that was not really a sweet move and does send the wrong message.
That you fail to grasp such a simple concept is not my fault.
The way I see it, you don't respect your foes by showing them mercy, you show them respect by giving it all you got to stop them from advancing.

I know for a fact you dont represent the mindset of your corporation. ASCI are a bunch of stand up guys if ever you met some. FIX knows them well.

I tend to believe that I represent none but myself.
However, regardless of who/what I represent, it doesn't make it any less factual.
Edit:
I don't know how well you think you know ASCI, but ASCI's Security department has no problem at all with podding direct/indirect threats. I severly doubt they'd "let go of a spy" because of a misguided concept you guys have for the word "honour". They would be 1. endangering not only their area but also ASCI as a corp; 2. showing disrespect to their opponents by pitying them.
You might want to learn the difference between "friendship", "mercy" and "respect" before you start talking to me.
Quote: I agree what they did wasnt the best idea but its the principal of keeping there word etc that should be respect.
Not the decision.

If thats what you want to call it fair enough your choice, Pvp is about skill in killing enemy ships, not about killing unarmed defenceless pods, we do not target pods in fleet battles as its pointless and also the pilot was there to have fun ect and kill stuff that could in return kill him, blowing up his pod is no skill, ok accidents happen and I am only talking about fleet battles here.
Call it a twisted sense of honour or something, But if you lost your ship fighting the good fight it's nice to know that at least you can go back and get another, we show respect to enemies when it is due, respect in this case is trying not to pod people in fleet battles.
Do the same to your enemy what enemy would do to you!

2 points;
Our word is our bond, you can take it to the bank. Anyone who breaks the word of a Senior member will be hauled over the coals then bathed in salt water While you may not see the wisdom of our actions, they are thought through (most of the time), we do what we do, and play the way we play for a reason.
Good fights so far, CYA in space.

Originally by: Joshua Calvert Yes, it always makes sense to let an enemy escape to fetch a new ship with which to kill your alliance members.
20+ jumps in a pod to get a new ship before being able to retun to fight or Pod them and have them back in half the time,
Do the math.

"Do you have any idea how hard it is to keep 60 bloodthirsty pilots from shooting a pod :)."
Right. Look at what this says about FIXÆs discipline and command controlùkeeping 60-something fingers off the triggers as a red pod slowly slides by to the gate! Amazing.
The restraint shown is particularly notable when you look at who was thereùthat Kodos and Dartnell are cold-blooded killers whoÆll shoot a man just to watch them die. Haw!
Have fun, allùand go FIX!

Yes we had to throw Kodos some steaks and get his attention elsewhere for that, I think the guy has rabies or something, he foams alot at the mouth.

Edited by: S3VYN on 31/01/2005 16:21:53 I know I, personally, am a student of Bushido. I recommend anyone who considers themselves warrior subscribe to at least one traditional warrior school of thought. This includes Bushido for the mighty Samurai, and "Chivalry" for the European statesmen known as "knights."
If you begin to study what real warriors (not those who pretend to be warriors in a video game) traditionally believe and abide by you will begin to realize the difference between a combatant and a terrorist.
FIX has honor permeating its being. We were founded on the word given between several corporations and that word has been something NONE of us have broken with each other. Even those who leave to go to our enemy do so respectfully and without causing internal conflict or treachery. And in general, we remain friends with them because of the mutual respect each and every one of us are required to earn from each other.
Lots of people in video games balk at suggestions like mine. But then again, lots of "agreements" in video games crumble at the first sign of major pressure. ------------------------------------- // The views expressed by this poster are not the views of the poster's corporation, alliance, planet or television network... but they should be. |

He would definitely be a good one to teach you what honor and friendship is all about.
You are very correct in asking him to tell you more. I am sure he will avail himself to educate you, because you definitely need lessons in the honor department.
Why dontcha head down south for a personal lesson?

Didn't mean it as a knock against fix. I'm sure you guys are very honorable. I just found comndrRat telling anyone about honor quite funny.

The two biggest spies and traitors the PA ever saw talking about honesty and honor! CmdRat and Dafuzz were carebears in PA council one day and in evolution the next. Evol doesnt take carebears. That is, unless they are offering something. Be quiet traitors. |

Cheers to Fix for being so honorable, I'm proud to have you as a friend and ally. As for BoB, I apologize for my Corp members smack during last nightÆs attacks. Although you did fire 1st and trespassed into Delve, you deserve more respect then the scum we normally encounter. See ya in space!
... you will see more and more marketing which in turn will bring you more players to torture. |

Ya, its J'har not J'hal The same thing that happened to CmdrRat happened to me, but the ending was not quite the same
I do however belive FIX will reinburse my loses, so no harm done. Even if they dont, i personaly think (atlest the ones i know)that fix is a honurable alliance and i'm proud to have such a honurable enemy but at the same time sadend that they are an enemy in the first place
If i get reinbursed i give my word that no fix member shall die by my guns (ships not included ), cept the 2 that killed me even tho i was promised safe passage (only the 2 from a fleet of aprox 50-60 targeted and eventualy shot at me, so i can vauch for fix keeping their word on not attacking me, but also know its hard to controll everyone in gangs, as i have been in a similar situations where this has happened within SE).
See you in the battlefield FIX

For those of you that don't know my history This thread should make for some good reading.
Mister Alt, I've given up trying to dispell the "spy" lies about me but if you have any idea how many carebears there are in evol your head would esplode. And I just don't understand why anyone would think a evol "spy" would switch from his "target's" corp to his real corp AND make a goodbye post on it the alliance forms.
If you want to flame me start your own thread. This one is mine!
