Looking at the comments on CCP/EVE Online's Facebook pic with the CCP logo flag and the orbiter Discovery launch, it seems like a final shuttle launch gathering might be popular. So, post a reply to this thread if interested to see if it's worth trying to get something organized.
Just keep a few things in mind... 1)It's NASA's final shuttle launch and the Titusville/Cocoa area is more than likely going to be packed--even worse than we are here in Daytona for the 500 weekend. 2)Shuttle launches are at the mercy of glitches and weather, so the target launch date of June 28,2011 is definitely not definite. :P 3)If you don't live close and may have to stay over--i.e. can't make a day trip of it--book a room early because of item 1 above. And, keep in mind item 2 when figuring booking dates. 4) We would need someone who lives and/or works in the Titusville/Cocoa area to step up and make some suggestions on where to meet up and hang out for the launch. I am not suggesting someone has to open up their backyard for us to gather at, but that'd be cool and I know I would be more than willing to contribute some food and beverage for the event.
So, if interested reply and maybe we can get something set up.

Edited by: Maeve Trinity on 26/02/2011 14:31:00 Canaveral area reporting in here. :)
If peeps are in the area I'd suggest World of Beer in Viera as a haunt. There is also my backyard.. which is situated nicely overlooking water, with a clear view of the launches... however that time has passed. ;)
In Titusville itself, I'd dare-say the Irish Pub is the best you're gonna get there

Orlando here, I'd definitely attend.
I do however, veto World of Beer. While it's a great bar, it's also always packed (atleast the ones in Orlando are.) and I don't think cramming a bunch of nerds in there would be very fun for anyone.
