New Skill
Bribery (Rank 5) Reduces ISK required for bribes to CONCORD officials by 5% per level.
New Feature
Players with with sec status of -2.01 or lower may dock with any DED or CONCORD facility and bribe an official (agent) to gain security status. Security status can only be raised to 0.00 using this feature. A bribe base of 1,000,000 ISK is required for every 0.01 sec status gained using this feature.
A player may specify to which security status he wishes to go to rather than be forced to pay to go only to 0.00.
Pros
Creates another ISK sink to help remove ISK from the game. Promotes low sec pvp moving more people out of empire. Allows pirates to recover sec status at great cost.
Please discuss this and let me know any concerns or changes you would make. I would like to eventually bring this option before the CSM, but not before any issue have been ironed out.

Couple things. It should only raise sec status to -1.99, not 0.00. That is the minimum to access all hisec systems. If you want to get to 0.00, grind it up the traditional way. And I'm not sure about 1m per .01 sec.. maybe 1m per .01% sec change.
As for the overall idea, I'm kind of meh on it.. but that could be me, because I couldn't tell you why for sure.

Edited by: Ravenal on 28/02/2011 21:43:25 it's been there, removed for a reason.
... exactly the same reason you want it back. So until you come up with a better one it's not gonna happen. .

Well I presume you are refering to buying PLEXs for this, and just for argument here: The OP numbers suggest that a -10 player would have to pay 1B isk to get back to 0 sec status or about 3 months of game time for something that takes 2 weeks with only an hour or 2 a day of play time. Which for the math seems to work out in the markets favor rather than the pirates.
I also do not support the idea entirely. It would provide an unfair advantage for those with lots of disposable income or those that just have a lot of ISK. ------ Support Manalapan for CSM!

You mean those people who do not care if taking such a route (paying) would be economically unsound (by your approximation and standards)?
I wholeheartedly support this because it would give people with one character the opportunity to pew pew in low-sec during weekend and not get raeped for ISK generataion during the week.

I'll allow it with one caveat.. that it also can be used to apply more protection from concord. Say for a 23 hour period concord will respond with more ships and fast when you need help while being ganked lol. |

Personally I would love this. Would go well with my -10 toon and exorbitant amounts of ISK. I just feel it is imbalanced to be able to pay your way out of that sec status. It is not a crime do the time thing. It is more a maintaining the balance of suicide ganking (yes I know low sec kills arent suicide ganking) but this mechanism would destroy one of the penalties of suicide ganking and as such I cannot support it. ------ Support Manalapan for CSM!

I agree after review by using this option a player should not be able to get a higher sec status than -1.99. The fee to pay the bribe must be higher (3,000,000) at base per 0.01 sec status change. Sec status penalty in systems 0.5 - 1.0 would need to be adjusted based on system true sec status as to increase penalty via suicide ganking. This increases the ISK sink generated by this method. Not talking about a huge increase but just enough to balance it.

I might get behind this if it was accompanied by an increase in the relative rate of security status loss and the max you can bribe.
I would also consider a max rate you can bribe but it would require additional discussion. ------ Support Manalapan for CSM!

Bribe was a feature back when the game was launched in 2003.
It was removed later because it made crime too easy- there are supposed to be consequences..
so don`t expect bribary to make a return..
