Each skill has a primary and a secondary attribute. Your attributes (Perception/willpower/etc) give you X skillpoints per hour for the primary attribute and x/2 SP per hour for the secondary. You can do a neural remap to reassign attribute points, but in general you'll need most attributes (save Charisma unless training leadership or trade) so this is best left to very specialized training plans.
You can buy implants to boost the attributes. +1 and +2 implants are only a couple hundred thousand ISK per, whereas +5s are over 100 million each. They're lost on pod death like all implants, but you should get able to get a set of +2s or +3s without breaking the bank.
For the most part, though, your training speed will be reasonably constant. You just need to prioritize skill training. When you're new, the only time you should be training a skill to V is if it's a prerequisite for some ship or module you want. It takes very little time to get a bunch of skills to III or IV. |
