Edited by: Lighter on 01/03/2011 10:39:54 Hi everyone,
It has come to my attention that there is, what seems to me as a small glitch in the Flagging of pilots.
Flying a Logi ship in a fleet, trying to repair a war target, the Logi pilot will get a popup window to confirm that he wants to repair the war target, and will at the same time become flagged as a war target if he proseeds to repair.
On the other hand, if a Logi pilot tryes to repair a "container flipper" he will get NO popup, and automaticly become flagged to the pilot/fleet the container belongs to.
In incursion pockets pirates has started to use this to their advantage and now infiltrate fleets with alt's that flip containers, ask for repair, logi pilots repairs, and soon after a hostile fleet warps in to take out the logis that has been flagged.
So I think that CCP should implement a popup for container flippers just like they now have on war targets to avoid greef from alot of pilots, and to prevent pirates from exploiting this.
I belive that Incursion pockets was made to gather random pilots to join up in fleets to kill NPC's. But due to this "can flipper" thingy, I see that Incursion pockets will be a Corp/Alliance thingy just like 0,0 unless CCP changes the game mech. of this issue.
I hope CCP will have a look at this issue and think abit about it, and if they deside to keep it as it is, well then this is a WARNING to all pilots that fly and enjoy Incursion Pockets.
If you agree with me, or think there is something to it, plz sign this post, or if you are a pirate, plz comment why CCP should not change this.....
Regards Lighter

The lengths people will go to just to achieve a hilarious **** poor kill cheers me up no end.
Keep it up, CCP is the carebear's friend since 2008, they won't see you suffer.

Edited by: Cam Clarke on 01/03/2011 13:44:49 I disagree.
First, the OP's wording is very misleading, as it is not a glitch, at least not a technical glitch, but rather a PICNIC (Problem In Chair, Not In Computer).
Second, there already exist ways to avoid this. As a member of those actively murdering your logistics ships, I have a vested interest in not explaining how.
Third, highsec bears do not need another handout in my opinion. They got the Noctis, a hull with no prerequisites to fly minus not being on a trial account and buying the skillbook and takes a day to train for salvaging, which has impacted salvagers everywhere, ninja or not due to a decline in salvage prices as a result. They got GCC cascading removed due to massive crying about it, which I will admit was a bit too easy. Adapt, instead of crying to CCP about it. Use your brains a little and you just might survive.

While I agree with your overall stance, I think you're probably fighting a losing battle. CCP has a vested interest in seeing incursions survive, and that means getting people to run them. I've seen at least three threads about this in the last two days, all with lots of unhappy Incursioners griping and complaining about the effects of this. I expect they will, at some point, do something about this, if only because not doing something about it will not remain an option for long if they expect people to continue running the incursions in high sec. --Vel

What the hell are you talking about? Incursions are far from carebearing. This is a serious glitch and exploit. There should be a warning that states "you are about to repair criminal, want to continue?" Right now the true carebears are all those ninjas and "hardcore hi-sec PVPers", Whose wants to shoot easy targets without any risk.

Edited by: Cam Clarke on 01/03/2011 14:22:49 @ De'Veldrin: As much as I dislike it, you're probably right. I just wanted to provide some input from my side in the vain hope it might not be changed as a result.
@ TharOkha: It is not a glitch as that is how remote-repair mechanics work so as to deal with a neutral RRer in a normal combat situation, and there is currently no feature in place to tell you whether or not you are about to repair someone who is criminally flagged to other players, so it is not a technical glitch either. As far as it being an exploit, that is up to CCP to decide, since all it is right now is creative use of aggression mechanics.
Edited slightly to change some wording. |

Introduce co-operative multiplayer PvE to Eve, and see what happens... the softies start learning about how the game actually works, woah what? That's how the game works? Yes. What, since forever? Yes. And I never even knew? No.
Then they start calling them "glitches", "bugs" or even "exploits".
And then CCP start agreeing with them.
Sharded PvE. Removal of wardecs. /pvpflag
Let's roll.

Its an exploit used by the usual suspects to score cheap kills to boost their epeen but who are to scared to go to low/nul sec and tackle someone who might actually fight back (for futher information, refer to generic "remove local" "remove unprobable ships" "remove jump bridges" whine threads.

RE: Cam and Gavjack You seriously missing a point. Maybe: 1.You never flew incursion 2.You are a part of those griefers. If 2. I understand. You want more easy risk-free targets exploiting this glitch. If 1. I dont know why did you ever reply to this topic.

apprently the 2 people who claim "we are complaiing for no reason" do NOT understand the mechanics involved - so this will serve to do so.
a 40 man fleet is put together consisting of 30 damage dealing ships (snipe and short range) with 10 logistic ships (say 10 basilisks).
each basilisk shares cap with 2 others. that is what makes them cap stable.
person A sees a can (say 1 scourge missile droped for anchoring) and decides to take the missile. person A gets a "you are about to steal" warning message. if he agrees he takes the missile and goes on a yellow aggression timer for 15 mins (becomes flashy red to the person who dropped the can and all members of his corp).
person A now requests shield repair from the basilisks. the unknowing, and unsuspecting, basi pilot begins to send shields to person A. in so doing becomes flashy red too as he is now aiding a theif. because this basi pilot shares cap with 2 others - they in turn become flashy red. within 1 minute all 10 are flashy red.
ccp DOES NOT provide the 1st basi pilot who provides on-site repairs any warning that he is about to aid a theif. however, ccp will provide a warning if player A is a war target or has popped GCC.
there should be some warning provided to those whose sole intention is to HELP others. they do so by providing shileds to save ships (in the case of a guardian - armor). obviously, this mechanic puts any logistics pilot into a bad situation without warning or consent. therefore, ccp should add a warning .

No, you're missing the point: it's not a glitch, it's game mechanics.
