Originally by: StuRyan Edited by: StuRyan on 04/03/2011 11:24:09 I would have run for it but from what I hear there is still a distinct lack of co-operation or willingness from CCP to listen to what the player wants from the game and therefore i see CSM being a complete waste of time.
When and only when CCP listen to the thousands and thousands of opinions of its player base, will we get close to having a CSM that is useful.
To those who are running - good luck, if i have any advice for you it is this - Its only a game try to remember we play it to have fun....
The issue surrounding No revisting for 18months and the stagered release of Incursion was a reactive result of the player base - I have seen no proactive results. If you manage to create a collaborative system where CCP and the player base can use you as their voice then I salute you, until then happy hunting.
I have very big objections in this matter: IF CCP would not only listen (I think they do that already), but act to the " thousands and thousands of opinions" then we wouldn't have a game. It would be a much bigger mess than it is today. It would be unplayable. Why? You may ask. - Because the opinions differ so much. There has to be someone who makes a decision about a direction. And I beg your pardon, but that direction should come from the game designers an pros not from the hobby programmers out there.

I do find it a little sad that the ladies are only represented by ONE this year. Would love to apply myself, just for a look see, but I work fulltime and have a family to deal with too.... NOt enough hours in a day week year for me already!
Good luck to all and please can you make sure THE LADY stands out, it is important to me to vote for her at least twice!

Listing names, gender, age, demographics is inappropriate for a post announcing candidates and should be removed from all official correspondence. You don't include that kind of information in any sort of democratic voting process. Someone's gender, age, etc, hair color is not relevant to their candidacy. What should have been included instead was relevant information, such as a blurb about each candidates platform.

Thank you for your feedback, Nypheas.
A person's real name (and to an extent country) is considered to be important as the CSM is not made up of nine EVE characters, the CSM is made up of nine real people. You run as a person, not a character.
Gender and age demographics I'd agree to an extent that it isn't needed as such, though we don't release this information on a per-candidate level. We only release a rough overview to provide some interesting reading for those who would like to see the information. As we don't release this on a per-candidate level, I myself don't feel that the information on this within the blog can really influence the decision of voters. _______________ CCP Diagoras Research and Statistics |

Once again horrible distribution of information, only listing voting period in a post several months prior to it happening then not listing it in the subsequent dev blogs.
http://www.eveonline.com/devblog.asp?a=blog&bid=847
February 9th to 23rd û Candidacy application period opens March 2nd û Publication of the list of approved candidates March 9th û Voting opens March 23rd û Voting closes March 30th û Results announced April 6th û CSM 6 takes office April 2012 û CSM 7 takes office

The voting period itself will be publicised through various means when voting has opened, we'll do what we can to ensure awareness of it.
Brian Haines (Avalloc) has chosen to withdraw his candidacy also, and has been removed from the candidate listing. _______________ CCP Diagoras Research and Statistics |
