Ok so I've waited for a week and atleast got a refreshed standing of 2.19+ my initial goal is to have 5.0 for Gallente to stand a POS in a 5.0 system
I've got 4 other members with low standings towards Gallente and 1 with a negative standing
What can I do to get it up faster? I wouldn't want to waste another whole week of waiting... (I'm frustrated) and I don't want to remake a corp again
I have 6.60+ personal standing with Gallente
The others have like 0.50 and one's with a -0.35
Does working COSMOS automatically bring up standing the minute one's done with one? or does it also take a week to have it changed again..?
Can I start doing COSMOS to try to get it up some?
Can a member training Connections improve the Corp's faction standing?
And is the easiest way to bring more positive standing members in the corp and wait another week cross fingers to pass it over 5.0? and I think when you do COSMOS it automatically brings it up, I don't understand why one has to wait a week...
I have another guy who can join that has 6.0+ I wonder what does it really take to finally have 5.0 so we can put a POS up
Any ideas? |

Your corp's standings is an average of everyone in the corp who has standings. See corp -> standings -> right-click one -> show compositions to see who gets factored in and what their numbers are. It takes 7 downtimes from when a character joins or leaves a corp for the change in roster to be factored in, but other standings changes happen either instantly or at downtime (I'm not totally sure which.)
COSMOS missions can get your faction standings up more quickly than anything, however the gallente ones don't offer a whole lot of options, mostly endless courier runs with low standings gains compared to other factions' COSMOS.
It's simply not practical for a legitimate corp to get highsec POSes. The game mechanics make it practically impossible. Based on game design, it's clear highsec POSes are for people who can run alt-corps that have no standings to be balanced into the compositions. The only practical way of getting a highsec POS inside a legitimate corp is to kick everybody out, wait 7 days, then put the POS up and have everyone join back up. It sucks and is poor game design, but that's the way it is.

If you make sure the character with the appropriate standings is in the corp and has been in the corp for 7 days, it'll be enough to kick the members for one downtime. At that downtime the standings will be recalculated; when the kicked members rejoin, they won't affect the standings for 7 days, so you have 7 days to launch control towers in high sec.

Was pretty sure the effect of out-going members was also delayed by 7 downtimes. Either way, it's an awful game mechanic and I would never do it myself. I've always used an alt-corp and 1-man POSes, or sucked it up and gone lowsec.

Really? So all I have to do is kick everyone out except me and wait for 1 downtime and see the new standings in effect? Can this possibly be true?? or have I misunderstood- please no waiting for 7 days again.. XXX

Don't think so, AFAIK: Daily Standing Change = (Average Standings û Current Standings) / 4 So, no waiting - no POS and you'll have to kick everyone with bad stndings, ofc. |

It's not.

If you have been in the corp for 7 days or more, yes.

That's outdated information.
Here's the current mechanic:
Corp standings are calculated daily at downtime by taking the average of the non-zero standings of all members who have been in the corp for at least 7 days.
It's that simple. The things I said above can be derived from this.

It other words every single member needs at least 5.0 faction standings; this obviously means that either you start furious grinding for Gallente standings or kick everyone out of the corp and then set up a POS.

After having gone through POS standings issues twice, the second time we took the shortcut: bought a pre-made corporation with the standings. We then had 7 days to place a POS after joining the new corp, with a limit of 1 per day.
