I agree with that actually, and have no issues with an alternative being 'raise requirements for Exhumers.' I've seen threads that had Science V and Ship Command V as additional requirements for Hulk, which actually fits some of the Certs better (plus gets a better 'foot in the door' toward additional skills you'd want for it anyway).

Edited by: Inspiration on 19/03/2011 11:12:56 Refining arrays for POS are so bad a.t.m., they don't add any value at all to anyone. This isn't so much a problem in normal space where there are plenty of alternatives, but it is in wormhole space.
I would like to see them improved, so that with max skills, you don't get 25% or so loss, but maybe only 5% (if any). The time they need to refine must be shortened too as their ore volume for refining per cycle is very limited compared to how much people can mine these days in the same amount of time. That they have terrible "fitting" requirements for a POS, I don't see as much of a problem...as long as they have the value to match that pain...which at the moment, honestly...they don't.
Have a thorough look at them as wormholes changed the game and this needs to change with it!

Import/Export in one step, thus make it like the trade window works, but then with only one party involved. This will cut down the click and delay timer annoyance. This is a beer option IMHO then my earlier idea of auto sensing import/export.

Just remembering your last "labs in space not station" dropdown box will be enough for me.
Ofc, less clicky is always nice.
Also, I would really like to see dynamic cost to public research slots, so they become a lot more expensive per use. To go with that, allow pos owners to make slots publicly available from their labs for a cost/hour of their choosing. Ofc can only be used with remote scientific networking and a station.

Yeah, but with a really heavy penalty if the lab is removed or the POS destroyed. I think the mechanics would kind of be hard to balance and am sure abuse will be rampant. Say I use a lab on purpose, then wardec you and kill your POS. Obviously you did not held up your end of the deal and there needs a penalty. And to protect me, the user, from you scamming, they would have to make sure you cannot remove the lab just like that, and thus neither the POS. Either way, renting a lab is the ideal way to put your unknowing future opponent in a corner and finish him off and guarantee laboratory harvesting success.

I could not write this incoherently if I tried. How do you do it?

It is not incoherent, well maybe it is from your perspective. I am just telling that to prevent abuse by one side, certain mechanics will have to be in place that make it unfortunately ideal to the other side to turkey the said POS owner. Hence the nightmare of how to balance this and why it has not been implemented so far. The interface is a dead giveaway that there have been thoughts in this direction from day one!
I think it is all kind of obvious, a shame you couldn't make heads or tails of it.
