Hello. New to EVE. I just finished up my free 14 day trial. I was attempting to finish one of my missions when I was unable to achieve the proper amount of training.
My mission involves taking a blueprint I am given by my trainer, and manufacturing (2) afterburners. I have the necessary ingredients, found a base with the proper facilities, and appear ready to go until I am given the message I do not have the right amount of skill in Industry.
I have trained twice under the title of industry so I should have what it takes I guess? Not sure what else I need to do or some specific book I need to have?
BTW, in my earlier missions I have acquired several training books that I would like to put in the skills training que, but I does not let me. Is their something I have done wrong? One of the books actually says I am not allowed to use until I upgrade my trial account. |

Regarding manufacturing, click on the blueprint, Show Info. There are two tabs, on the second tab there is a materials section and a skills section, look at the skills section, it will tell you what is required.

In that requirements tab it said I only needed to be at level 1 Industry or something like that was required. Anyhow, whatever the level was I noticed I did not have it and immediately qued up a skill to train it so I could do the mission, and I was still unable to accomplish it.
As for paying, I have not as of yet purchased a subscription. I just ended the 14 day free trial today. I am going to check that wiki to see if I can find an answer.

As most T1 items only have the skill Industry required it's more likely you picked a remote manufacture line by accident. For this you need additional skills to be able to set up remote jobs.
Make sure you select the manufacture lines that are in station with you.
As for the skillbook you couldn't implant, this is likely the "Racial" Industrial skill. Industrial skills are untrainable on trial account otherwise we old player would have access to free throw away hauling alts. Inject your skillbook before you leave the station. Neo didnGÇÖt learn Kung-Fu by having it sit in his usb drive.-á If it moves, shoot it. If it doesn't move, poke it with your gun and then shoot it. We are not running, we are advancing in the opposite direction |

Just wanted to say thanks to all of you that responded. I really appreciate your input. There really is a lot of information in this game that can sometimes be overwhelming when you are new to it.
In terms of the manufacturing line, I used the tutorial to guide me through setting up this gig. I had to fly from the Pator Tech School because it did not have the capabilities to manufacture the afterburners. I flew to another location one jump away. Which is a location I had been before although the name of the place escapes me at the moment.
The tutorial took me through every step of the process. When I had everything all squared up and ready to run, I received a message that said I did not have the necessary skill of Industry x1.
In case it makes a difference the mission I was doing was Mountain out of Molehills (#3 of 10). |

The tutorials only require the Industy skill at level 1. You do not start with this skill, and may need to purchase it from the market (unless with recent changes the tutorials now give you the industry skillbook).
When your setting the job up use the station that the tutorial agent is at. you may need to queue your job a little, but the delay shouldn't be that long. Use the tmie to read some eve-guides, eat food etc. |

Yep, as above, it sounds like you need to purchase the Industry skillbook, and train it up to level 1. You may have already been given the book by your agent, so take a look in your item hangar first before going and buying it. Also, after a quick search I found this video:

At around the 30 min mark (check video description for exact time), he does a walkthrough of that mission. Hopefully it helps. |

Every category of skill has a skill by the same name the problem you have is that you need the Industry skill itself, not just any skill in the Industry category.
examples of matching skills are Gunnery skill, increases dmg from turrets by 5%, Navigation, increases speed by 5%, Electronics, increases ship CPU by 5% etc etc The Drake is a Lie |
