Right, over time EVE has become more soft to accommodate the "we want 300k subscribers" Oveur talked about several years ago.
Tonight I heard a horror story, someone got "trapped" in a WH system as he rejoined the game being out of corp (but only for 2 months) and no probe launcher on his Harbinger, he asked in help channel what to do and we replied "ask in local, if no one replies self destruct, you chose to not have a probe launcher and you choose to stop playing while in WH space".
What he did was petition this, and not even an hour later some GM moved his ship to high sec. Here's some excerpts from the petition:
Quote: Hi,
We offer a one-time only move to players who are stuck in hostile space after returning after a long break (6 months+). I can move you to a system of your choice, but I can only move the vessel you are in (and any items inside of it) and not...
Quote: Let me know what system you want moved to and when you are ready, and then I will move you there along with the ship you are currently in.
Best regards, GM XXXX EVE Online Customer Support
What the **** happened to our EVE? Seriously? Apart from the fact that he wasn't 6 months out of corp it's a ****ing ******ed change of what EVE was about. If we follow that idea the next petition could be "Hi, I jumped into low sec and some mean pirates killed my hauler with 100k zydrine onboard. I wasn't prepared for this, can I please get my ship and cargo back?".
Seriously?

Part of the reason I'm back down to 1 account, gets any worse and I'll start paying in PLEX until I'm too lazy to get the isk for them or Eve gets too WoW-like

One guy. Prove that its gamebreaking. I almost gave up my third week because 1)High sec is boring and 2)PVP ends up being Shoot Ship + Pop Pod = ***** in forum that all level 4s need to be moved to lowsec (aka, boring ass ship to ship PVP when you are alphaed in just a few seconds), I have since learned to avoid certain systems because I was given advice on how to find them. A little helping hand and sage advice to not do that goes alot further then "lol, your f@!#$ buddy. thanks for the monthly sub" because face it, EVEs numbers are not as high as WoW (each account = 1 player in most cases for that game) and for every customer that leaves EVE it can be several accounts being canceled over some stupid thing causing them to rage quit or lack of ability to retain a new customer for more then a few months (longer customer, more income to CCP) because the game is harsh. As you showed, one free move isn't game breaking and I bet you that newbie won't make the same mistake twice.

eve becomes more crappp because of MACROs
Jita is macro 24/7... mining is all macro, 0.0 and missions are macro. If you are do not macro you pay for those guys with plexes, so you can grind less and PvP more.
Hence = everybody macro. Eve - another yellow FRPG (fail online RPG)

Even the posters on the forums are macros. Seriously though, I feel like someone created a bot to randomly ***** about macros. It seems like almost every thread where people complain, its the macros fault.

Oh no EvE's customer service has improved from when it took many weeks to get an answer to a petition and the most likely answer was "Our logs show nothing." ! Those were the days !

Edited by: sableye on 06/03/2011 21:23:18 GM's have always moved people when they been stuck and got a good reason/little chance of getting out/maybe no updated clone ect. its all done on a case by case basis and to be honest who cares if he was moved out he only just came back after apaprently a while away if they could confirm that it would be bad of them not to move him in my opinion.

Clearly this spells the end of the northern nap train.
Shows me the company has some class, not making a customer return to the game instantly having to deal with a pretty ugly conundrum.

Yes and you should never get ships back that have been lost due to lag since it was killed in the game why should you get your stuff back, if you do it makes the game turn into WOW. Who cares if this makes the customer base unhappy and start leaving the game, its only for a few hard core people anyway the rest are just targets...

Its not even the same thing. Oh and you got froth all over your keyboard, I suggest you mop that up before it stains.
First scenario is, player returns to eve and through no fault of his own finds himself in a position that makes the game unplayable.
Second scenario is, dumb hauler loses his stuff through his own actions. Game is still playable to him.
Seriously take a chill pill. Its just a ****ing game.

Forget the game, look what's happened to the forum *points at thread*.Edit: Checking the GM correspondence, it says something which specifically undermines the OP's post, but since it was redacted I'll let my original response stand. -
