Does each escalation drop faction loot or do you only get the loot at the end of the final escalation? If it's the final escalation and you are not guaranteed an escalation, how do you guys decide when to continue? Especially when it can lead into nullsec. Are the bounties themselves worth the cost of continuing the mission considering you can get ganked and such or is just the possibility of faction loot that we're chasing? -----------------

Faction loot not guaranteed. Depends. Depends. Depends.

You may want to check out my exploration chart for some of your answers.
Generally speaking bounties aren't why you're there IMO. The name of the game is blitzing, get in and get out, especially when doing escalations in hostile space. You are after the faction/deadspace loot, not bounties. Thats not to say that if I feel safe I won't stick around and kill 900k+ isk battleships, but your primary concern should be the shiney loot.
Most high sec expeditions will end in low sec and low sec to null sec. If you are careful though and prepare properly you should have no problem making it though.
Good luck.
