Hello, well I'm only a few days new and I love mining in EVE. So far the best Ore I can make profit off is Kernite, I think I don't think I should go for anything beyond that and risk my ship getting destroyed by rats or pirates.
So I'm looking for any asteroid belts that has a nice amount of Kernite ores that is near the Ambrye Constellation, if there is a few rats around no problem but if it has massive pirates then I can't do that.
In return for the information I'll give 10% profit I make from one time hauling it to whoever first post a correct information. |

You'll need to go to Amarr space .7 or lower. A quick look says Manatarid is the closest system that would work.
Good luck. |

Can I ask why you believe this to be true?
Here's a tip for you. Different ores take up different quantities of space. You /always/ mine the same volume of ore (ignoring modulated mining lasers for now)
Kernite takes up 1.2 m3 per unit. Veldspar takes up 0.1 m3 per unit
Do you make 12 times as much per unit on Kernite, than you do on Veldspar? FuzzWork Enterprises http://www.fuzzwork.co.uk/ Blueprint calculator, invention chance calculator, isk/m3 Ore chart-á and other 'useful' utilities. |

Kernite isn't usually the most profitable kind of roid to suck on. I mostly use this simple chart to determine what general kind of asteroids to suck ore from. Note that Kernite is pretty far down the list. Veldspar is much better, and Scordite is better still.
Note that that chart only shows general ore types. Within each general ore type there are two special subtypes, that give 5% and 10% better minerals yield when refined. These have distinctive names, e.g. Massive Scordite instead of just Scordite. If in doubt, suck named ores in priority to unnamed ores (e.g. C. Scordite and M. Scordite first, then Scordite last) but you don't really benefit from learning to distinguish between the 105% and the 110% types.

I just refine everything and sell the minerals. But I supposed you're referring to the mission runner market. I think it's basic Omber and basic Kernite, that some mission runners are willing to pay a high price for.

Yup. The special versions don't fill the mission requirements. Just sell them for an elevated price in the same system as storyline agents. FuzzWork Enterprises http://www.fuzzwork.co.uk/ Blueprint calculator, invention chance calculator, isk/m3 Ore chart-á and other 'useful' utilities. |

From 1 miner to another, if its isk'ies you're after then mine veldspar, problem with kernite is stated above "INCLUDING" it is a problem trying to find enough to make it worthwhile, where as you can find a 170k veldspar roid and park your mining barge next to it and mine away without taking time to move from field to field looking for kernite you can easily find 100,000+ veldspar roids sitting next to each other. so rig your barge properly and work towards T-2 lasers the yield is well worth it, veld is you're best money maker, scordite is also great, but for simi AFK nothing beats veldspar. |

I wouldn't automatically assume that Kernite is the best ore you can mine. The minerals it produces are high-value, but the roids are smaller and the ore itself takes up more volume in your ore bay (which means you get less of it per m3 than, say, Veldspar). Listen to Chribba: if you're mining for profit in hisec, stick with Veldspar. Over the years, day in and day out, Veld is the best isk/hour ore in hisec. Many people have tried to crunch the numbers otherwise, but it keeps coming up Veld/Trit.
If you're manufacturing, you obviously need different minerals, but even then if you have low refining skills it makes a lot more sense to buy the minerals rather than try to mine them yourself. In fact, if you really are a relative noob, don't even try to refine the ore (regardless of the type) because you're going to take a huge loss on refining fees and wastage. Just sell the ore directly. Until you get your Refining skill up to IV or V, just sell the ore.
Chribba is wise, so pay heed: Veldspar.

One more thing about refining your ore into minerals: not all stations are the same. Some only refine at 35% rather than 50%, and your standings with the corp that owns the station also affect your production rate (low standings means that the corp has a higher "we take x amount" rate).
Here is a background on the Refining mechanics of EVE: http://www.eve-wiki.net/index.php?title=Refining

If you're looking for maximium hourly yield its best to stay up to date with what minerals are the most profitable. But keep in mind these change weekly, and some times daily, so if you're mining to sell the mins you have to sell them quick.
Personally I use This site for current mineral / ore prices as it does 3 things and these thing things very well. It displays the current prices of minerals, the current price of ores per m3/unit and displays what each ore contains.
For example right now Scordite is much more valuable then Kernite (has been for about 3 weeks now), in fact Kernite is the second lowest ore to mine in high sec above Omber. For max price you should be mining Scordite then Pyro and then Veldspar. And then only mining Kernite if you're manufacturing (or don't care about maximum isk/yield prices).
As for the best place to mine it, look in Amarr, anywhere below .7 and look for low activity, just like any other specific ore you may be searching for. Common mining practices would naturally be low activity, dead end systems, or systems with no station if you can haul. |

Any .5 to .7 systems in Amarr space has nice pockets of kernite.
Although, you're better off mining scord and veld at this point. More bang for the buck, so to speak.

To improve your isk mining, especially when starting out, find a good mining corp. most will have mining ops to make your mining more effective, an ore buying program so you don't have to freight and sell it your self, and someone with high refine skills and standings to refine your ore at a perfect rate free of charge.
