Oh, come on, you have to at least TRY to give us SOME information other that "EVE don't w3rk, h4lp !!!111oneone"... :sigh:
Is this a new PC, one never ran EVE on before ? Does it have a fresh windows install ? Or is this a PC that EVE ran on just fine and you had no recent windows reinstalls ? What about recent OS updates ? What windows version do you have ? Or is this a MAC ? And so on and so forth.
Try updating DirectX with the redist package first. EDIT: Linkage Or maybe update your vidcard drivers.

If I understand, you get the splash screen but then it just closes?
It that is the case it sounds like a direct x issue. Have you reinstalled or updated direct x lately?

I have this problem with my laptop. Since they released the carbon character creator, I can no longer play EVE from my laptop due to my card and drivers for my video card.
/petition it under technical. Run the logserver.exe program in the EVE directory when you try to start EVE and give them the logs from that program as well as your dxdiag info in your petition and someone will get back to you. It took a few days for them to answer my petition, so be patient. - - [SERVICE] Corp Standings For POS anchoring

Edited by: Dr BattleSmith on 11/03/2011 02:40:59 It's the "awesome" new graphics.
Just restart the client 5-20 times and it will randomly come good.
Intermittent bug.
edit: turning down graphics settings helps.

The problem is more with the code then your setup.
Maybe CCP will debug it when they fix the last 3 years of failed expansions.
Or maybe they just don't want you as a customer anymore.

certain processors can no longer be used with eve, since a recent update.. What kind of processor do you have? since you reinstalled windows, maybe you need to reinstall all your drivers.. Did you reinstall all your necessary drivers? sometimes files can get corrupted.. Did you reinstall eve?

1) press the caplock key a few time to make sure it is working 2) what processor do you have 3) what GFX do you have 4) have you run the DXsetup file from the bin\DirectX directory 5) have you run logserver then the game and if so what does it say 6) have you whined and dined on the forums 7) have you posted in the correct forum

Moved from 'EVE General Discussion'.
Did you try updating your video card drivers?
If that does not help, please file a petition under "Technical Support" category and the GMs will help you out.

I'm having the exact same problem. Just reinstalled XP on a freshly formatted hard drive, reinstalled Eve 4 (FOUR) times, twice with the normal download and twice with the manual one...nothing. Splash screen and that's it. Latest nVidia drivers installed. Still nothing. Halp!

Yea unforunatly im having the exact same issue, have tryed a number of fixes from the forums but to no avail. Its just spash screen then splash screen disapears and nothing. I checked the processes and its running "ExeFile.exe*32" CCP exefile but the actual log in screen never launches. Any help with this would be greatly aprecciated it was running fine on my rig with all expansions and only recently started 2 fail. My computers definatly up 2 par as far as requirements go.
If its any help im using 5850GPU with all the recent drivers AMD phenom II Tri core black edition CPU
Ty in advance for any help.

Have you fired up the CCP log server before starting the Eve client? When I did that, I could see obvious errors in the startup process and was able to fix it once I knew the cause.

Originally by: Dr BattleSmith It's the "awesome" new graphics.
My 1 year ATi turned in to a mini barbecue each time I've tryied to play the past few weeks and nothing, since new drivers to Directx reinstall and all the blah blah, has donne with these.
Made a IRL real wreck with it and plugged an GTX460 instead, now yes, I can say Eve graphics are awesome and trouble are over. ________________________________________________

Same problem here. Log Server reports nothing. But the windows system log reports the following problems. ( Excuse the German language )
I get about a 50 times before the splash screen disapears. I dont get any of this on my other box with a working client.
Os is WinXp service pack 2 with a Nvidia 6600.
