Incursions ? Are they instanced? How do they happen? Where do you find them? Do they just randomly happen and everyone in system needs to fight or are they instanced? Ive been away like 2 years, only re-subbed now. I have no Idea! :/
TY in advance

If you take a look in your journal you should see a tab for incursions. That tab will tell you where they are and the type of incursion. Good luck

Edited by: Jovan Geldon on 11/03/2011 13:21:06 *Nothing* in EVE is instanced (apart from your hangar bay, I suppose). I don't know where people get that idea from.
As for Incursions, check where they are in your Journal, then go to the "staging system" or whatever it's called. When you enter the constellation you will be added to the Incursion channel for that area, where you can attempt to join fleets if you like. Logistics and battleships are very much preferred.
There are beacons in-system for the sites; what you can expect to find and what kind of fleet you should bring to each is detailed in your Journal. The further you get from the staging system, the harder the sites will become.
There is no loot or salvage to speak of (you *can* get salvage, but it's rare and not worth your time scrabbling for); your only reward is ISK and CONCORD loyalty points.

Incursions are survivable, and even easy with the right people. However they are NOT soloable. Don't even think about taking an officer fit golem into a vanguard thinking you can handle it.
I've seen maybe ten solopwnmobiles pop in incursions, and I'm sure I'm not the only one

Thus, while the NPC give crappy loot, you might find a good drop from a player.
You don't need to fight if you don't want to. The main effect of an incursion is to boost rats damage and tank, while nerfing their bounties.
If you do choose to fight, then make sure you have some help.
