*** I'm sure some of these things have been proposed already, but honestly I don't care... Here's my take on how it could be, because there's no reason these things should not be possible.
Computing & Power Grid Unit (CPGU) - A "brain" like anchorable module designed to control other anchorable modules within its range. Not protected by a force field. Relatively cheap to produce, and relatively low HP, much like a cruiser. It could be anchored anywhere in lowsec and nullsec. In lowsec it could not be anchored near gates or stations. Also you can only have one brain for every 150km with a max number of brains per system. This would be configurable in terms of what the unit should aggress, e.g. it could be set up to ignore rats. Rats or players destroyed by this unit would not provide a bounty.
Anchorable Remote Repair System - We can put it on ships, why not make an anchorable one? It could automatically repair friendly ships and modules in range. It should probably have relatively low amount of HP, perhaps as much as a cruiser.
Anchorable Sentry Unit - It's about the same as a sentry drone but it's anchorable withing the range of a friendly CPGU.
Anchorable Mining Unit - This unit would just automatically harvest rocks within range until its cargo hold gets filled. We can mine moons, why not rocks, seems a lot easier a task...

Well, the first two would massively amplify any home-field advantage for anyone who sets up the battlefield beforehand. The last one is about the same as botting. |

Agreed with mxzf, and while I like the idea of what your suggesting I would suggest actually giving it a little more control as to make it so defenses aren't automated, that would be bad. The CPGU would be an interface that a pilot that can use POS guns can interface with and use them in a similar fashion. This would bypass you ships current systems so you have to either control the anchored structures, or use what you have fitted.
This would make unattended structures useless and easy targets. Giving them about the same EHP as a Cruiser seems realistic. I have always wanted sentry guns on gates and stations, it makes sense that they need to be manned. |

Yes, that's kind of how I imagined these would work. I forgot to mention that they would have to be manned by a capsuleer. For example, the station could actually have a room (especially in sov systems) from which various defensive structures could be controlled. |

I would say read the CSM meeting minutes, stuff like this is already being discussed.
I'm bored... Let's shoot the rocks. |

I demand action then.
Ugh, I hate reading their long winded posts But if so I'd love to see a quote on the subject or something... I hope they're not getting carried away with arbitrary and dumb mechanics. I will check into this, but I suggest to them to use the system I proposed so that they don't RUIN EVERYTHING. |
