This thread is devoted to your tiredness towards endless and mindless blobbing. Possibly think of ways to still have big fleets, but they don't go toe to toe too often.

within reason the fleet size doesnt matter.
1v1 10v10 50v50
all fine
its the 50v1 which is tiresome to all concerned.

Solution, get rid of killmails completely. People are overly concerned about their effeciency or scores on the killboards. Didn't you get the memo? The size of ones evepeen is all that matters anymore... |

People don't even just blob anymore.
PL DDoS'd our TS3 while blobbing today. It's not enough to have a number advantage anymore...

I'd say it has more to do with actually losing **** of value that makes people risk-adverse, also the necessity to run multiple toons to accomplish much in this game. I like to say, "it's just pixels" as much as anyone else, but "just pixels" can take literal days or weeks of effort to get.

the op needs to ask himself why people blob.
if say on an Intel channel someone reports an enemy fleet picking on ratters and an alliance fc puts up a fleet to tackle them, he's not going to turn pilots down wanting to join and certainty not on a point of fairness towards the other fleet. the sighted fleet will happily blob a single ratter.
that way he'll be able to trap the enemy fleet into a system with no means of escape. its not about kills mails always either. its about getting people of our hard won land;)
small gang pvp is fun but no fc is going to turn down numbers in response to an enemy fleet. zukhov wasnt going to send home half his divisions when fighting the Germans because it was unfair.

Ill agree, KB efficiency is a big part of how i view how well im doing PVP wise. However, i try to blob as little as possible, and generally dont call in backup if i know I can handle it with whats around me. Then again, I fly cheap t1 hulls, as bcs are generally far better/durable/cheaper then t2 cruisers (save t3, on the second point, at least)
Id also like to say that sumtimes, when ur on a gate with a fleet, trying to figure out what to do, and something jumps in... you kinda cant avoid blobbing it to hell. Guns don't kill people. onowait. |

Meh. Fights between two massive blobs are fun.
Victory is more important than providing a numerically even fight.
If I want something less blobby I go out solo roaming.

Intel channels and F10 are key. I know where the blobs are and they don't know where I am. I find this conducive to a happy and fulfilling experience.

Remember the good old days, back when we used pixels that only took a few hours to get? I think people were less risk adverse back when a Tier 1-2 BS with Meta modules was the typical blob ship and there were no rig slots to consider leaving empty.

Not true. The most common KB layout rewards everyone equally for killing a single target, thus 150 people shooting a bc all the get same points (promotes blobs for individual kb stats, corp/alliance stats aren't affected). However, sites like battleclinic or people using griefwatch don't get stacked points like this. Weights come into play that give balance points given by the number of people and the ship types involved. Its not perfect and there are problems with this too, but definitely shows who is blobbing easily (i.e., no skill) -------------------------------------------------
Don't debate with morons. They drag you down to their level, then beat you with experience. |

triple the size of eve space and create space (like the old days) where people are more spread around. This does not stop blobbing, but will create more possibilities to avoid / create one.

Yeah, just look at 0.0, pretty much all the blobs are out there and it's really overcrowded...wait, what?

A way the blob can die off is by giving more benefits to sniping in PVP. Maybe increase the rate of fire for sniper ships? This way they can take down fast approaching close range ships a bit easier.
Just a suggestion though. I don't see this happening in the future.

Its simple. People are stupid and dont want to lose a ship. I dont give a crap about how many losses or kills I rack up. Im looking for the 1v1 or even 1v2 fights. The blob is for people that "think" they want to play but in reality want to have a shiny ship and always win it then go GF. Solution dont fly crap your not willing to lose. Its that simple. If you didnt care about losing your ship you would go out and less blob. I havent flown in a fleet in more then 3 weeks because I hate the blob. I hate it on intel (and I make fun of my guys) when you see a gazillion X's to kill a SINGLE WT. Seriously grow a set or make more isk.

Think that's mostly bitterness from your side, not real facts. Most people in eve are desperate for a good fight regardless of group size. Once the blob's gets Too big though lag makes all fc's involved turn into chickens to the despair of the average pilot

Where you live everything is blue.
Not only is everything blue, the entire PB area is full of carebears; the CTA mails down there are hilarious for a group of people that 'shun blobbing' and all. 'Blobbing' is an excuse, does it happen? Sure. Is it inconvenient when you can't fight back? I would imagine.
Does how you feel about it stop it from happening? No. Will it ever go away? No.

As long as bubbles remain out of low sec im ok with being blobbed.
To be caught by a Pro Tackler deserve your corpse compared to "here they come launch the almighty bubbles".
To be caught or loosing to a blob is just simple stupidity to press scan and look at the range overlay which has been given free next to your hull gauge.
Nothing wrong with us or them having more friends to play with ^^
Oh by the way its not called a BLOB, it is what we call now as a TACTICAL FLEET.
