Noticed that in the wealth of hardwiring implants on offer, there aren't any that affect drones. I read somewhere a while ago that someone was looking into the matter, has anyone heard any more about it ?
Drones are perhaps the one thing I use with every ship setup, it's a shame they haven't got the same love as all the other bullets and bombs do Combat: Your Large Spirits Bottle II strikes Sanshas Pointy Cruiser perfectly, opening a can of whoopass for wtfomg*hic*burp*pwned damage ! |

Edited by: Vito Antonio on 18/03/2011 16:46:23 I think people dont like drones because they require micromanagement. Therefor noone really cares whether there are drone implants or not.
Also aggro mechanics in this game are pretty terrible(even single player games like dragon age have better aggro systems). So either drones dont have aggro and dps without any risk, or they get aggro and are getting killed before they can fly back to your ship even if you spam hotkey.
Because of this CCP wont make drones more important and wont add any implants.

I, too, find it amazing that a single player game is less complex and thus vastly easier to code than an MMO.

It's like coming to an expensive restaurant and having to eat with plastic forks and knives.

Not only are there no hardwires for drones, but the drone damage module is still a GM only item and there's still no faction part of the drone navigation system either.
Drones have progressively lost much of their importance through things like the sleeper AI and the Gallente nerf making drone carriers in general less interesting.
I think it's because they put a lot of strain on the servers and CCP wants to economize their cpu cycles. That was already the case when the drone interfacing skill was changed from additional drones to additional dps.
