Ohh Yeah
Suddenly Ninjas Tear Extraction And Reclamation Service

I didn't find any public GM posts on the issue, but it seems to be a general consensus that any corporation repeatedly joining and leaving the same alliance to avoid being war declared is considered an exploit. People have said that it falls into the same category as having all members of a corporation switch to another corporation and then immediately back after the war is over.
However, what the people say doesn't really matter in these cases.
So I restate my question (and link this thread in my curiosity-inspired petition):
Is it considered an exploit for a corporation to continuously avoid war declaration by repeatedly joining and leaving the same alliance?
((Obviously you could just declare war on the corp when they leave, but that's not the issue I'm addressing))

If I remember correctly, they changed wardec mechanics in regards to alliances. There was an alliance designed specifically to transfer your wardecs to them and was deemed an exploit I believe. That concept was put out of business. That was a few years ago though...can't seem to find the threads on the subject. - - [SERVICE] Corp Standings For POS anchoring

They can change corp all they like but cannot leave alliance to save a stronted POS. Why are you asking 'the people' when you don't value their response. Petition it... and good luck getting a consistent answer from the GM's.

1: No one cares or thinks you're cool because you "imploded a big alliance" (yes I read that heaping pile of fail that was your other thread)
2: Its pretty standard practice to move industrial/mission running/freighter hauling/non PvP corps out of an alliance during wardecs. A one man alt corp wardeccing them probably would have had the same effect.
3: No one cares about carebear PvP unless its suicide ganking some riddiculously faction/deadspace fit mission runner. Carebear PvP is like the WNBA, or the special olympics, not even close to as interesting as the real thing (though sometimes good for lulz).
4: Please make another thread about your fail corp/alliance wardeccing another fail corp/alliance. I heard if you can get three threads on the front page people will actually start to respect you.
5: Still feeling good about OMGWTF IMPLODZING an alliance? you fail.
6: feel free to find me if you're butthurt, I live in placid. |

Sounds like alliance hopping, which was an exploit I believe.
Send a lot of petitions across many accounts, since the GM staff are never consistent in their rulings. ...Then when you stopped to think about it. All you really said was Lalala. |

When I did highsec wars, I can remember two occasions in which my corp decced another corp which then proceeded to join an alliance and leave immediately after, causing us to have to wait another 48 hours before we could attack them again.
In both instances we petitioned it, and in both instances the gm said that repeatedly joining/leaving an alliance with the intent of shifting a wardec onto the alliance is frowned upon, with the key phrase being "multiple times".
We delt with it by mailing the alliance to thank them for giving us a free wardec, then proceeded to make them regret having ever been part of a wardec dodging scheme. - - - Dian'h Might - C&Ps resident "internet kleptomaniac" |

To clear up the confusion.
A corp that leaves an alliance during a dec IS NOT AN EXPLOIT. A corp that joins an allince during a dec IS NOT AN EXPLOIT. A corp that members leave during a dec IS NOT AN EXPLOIT. A corp that leaves an alliance after a TOWER has been reinforced to miss the dec IS AN EXPLOIT.
(EDIT) I am drunk and the information may not be correct but to the best I could do on short notice.

Adding to this:
A corp that joins an alliance during a dec, then leaves the alliance is not an exploit. A corp that joins an alliance during a dec, then leaves the alliance, then joins an alliance again after being redecced, then leaves the alliance, is an exploit. - - - Dian'h Might - C&Ps resident "internet kleptomaniac" |

An easy way to remember this:
As easy it is to declare war against a corporation, as easy it is for said corporation to nullify the declaration.

Anything i say now can be confirmed by "Tsia" ingame
Back in 2009 i was doing the highsec war **** solo.. blah blah joined a corp called Annihilate which was based in Amarr. Upon joining i was instantly told about some noob "ohh yeah" wanting to join so badly .. he had paid OVER !:!::!! a whole bil to join a corp... yes he paid to join some mediocre pvp corp.
To which point.. he was then killed in some expensive ship "broadsword with cn invuls.. proving his fail" and booted from corp..
he then paid.. yep paid . AGAIN to join the corp :O *look at his emp history* and was yet again.. robbed of all the isk we could get and kicked. .
DURING THIS i aqquired picture of him on webcam via msn.. *serious business* showing he is infact about 14 (15/16now i guess) and a little skinny person in rl..

Running away from an alliance, so just clicking 'surrender' is basically admitting that you have won against a corp in the alliance, you should be happy! And joining later after a war is no exploit... Seriously, why would it? Why can't a country unite after a devastating war...
Exploit regarding this matter: Corp A deccs Corp B, during the war corp A doesn't really fight, just sets traps, when corp B engages corp A with lesser numbers, people who were neut (part of other corps lets say) suddenly join corp A and corp B is nailed by people who weren't even WTs a minute ago and are in the same grid/solar system (not sure what's the ban-hammer decision range here). No way to counter, forsee, fight it. That's why it's not allowed.
THAT is the exploit so many people are wondering about lately...

If I understand correctly, to further clarify that particular exploit, I'll simply paste a "quote" from one of the GMs. "You may not join a corp while in space in order to surprise a war target. It has been more difficult to do this of late, but it can still be done. This is a case where a player is invited to a corp, but does not accept the invitation. He then flies up to the corp's war target and then accepts the invitation and joins the corp, but because he's in space, the war target can't see that he's now the enemy in his overview. Trying this and getting caught will most definitely get you in trouble."
HTH...
:)
fly safe...
