ItÆs time for another bond! I know there are at least a couple of you who are already excited.
This time around, the bond will be for a whopping 8 billion. The bond has filled before I even make the first post this month, which is great.
The breakdown: 5 Billion Collateralized at 5% -RAW23 has reserved 3 Billion -AKJon Ferguson has reserved 1 billion. -Egola has reserved 1 billion. -Collateral is to be: BPOs: Providence ME 3 PE 0, Megathron ME 50 PE 9, Materials to manufacture 2 providence, materials to manufacture 9 Megathrons. Total collateral û Just over 5 Billion -Payout will be 5% on investment, for a total return of 5.25 Billion
3 Billion Uncollateralized at 10% -Egola has reserved 1 Billion -Lando Antilles has reserved 1 Billion. -Magnum117 has reserved 1 Billion. -Uncollateralized portion will pay out at 10%, a total 3.3 Billion.
The bond will officially begin on Monday, March 28 and payout will take place on or before April 28.
As always, I will provide weekly updates to do my best to highlight interesting happenings.
RAW23 will be holding the collateral, which I will finish procuring later this week before the bond starts. Once he confirms receipt, IÆll begin accepting ISK for the bond.
VV will be running a performance audit as well.
Thanks again everyone, -Kei Darker

I'm back from my short vacation, and back to great internet - so I have finally put up the collateral to RAW23. There is a slight modification to my collateral, being that the Megathron BPO is actually ME 45 PE 9, not ME 50 PE 9 as I stated earlier. I had the number mixed up and was going from memory when writing the original post.
Anyways... the contract is up to RAW. He should confirm soon and the bond will officially begin on Monday March 28th. Thanks again, -Kei Darker

since my portion is uncollateralized, it doesn't matter too much if I send it before RAW confirms.

And it is officially midnight March 28 here in ET. :D The bond is underway with an impressive 100+ million already lost to broker fees. Woohoo for sinks! on a related note... anyone feel like grinding caldari navy and caldari rep for me? :P I'm too lazy to do missions but don't enjoy the 0.75% broker fees. That request is mostly a joke ^ I can't afford to pay someone to grind rep for me. sigh. oh well. Someday I'll have to get off my ass and do missions. What's the fun in just becoming rich, eh? :)

Edited by: Kei Darker on 03/04/2011 18:00:23 And the time has come for the week one update! Woohoo! Let's see what EMMA can tell me about my trading this week.... (I calculate things like NAV out myself though because EMMA is silly and doesn't always tell me the truth...)
The short summary: We've got profits! Hurray! As it stands now, we're looking at about an increase of 11 or 12 percent increase from when the bond began. Presumably by the end of the day (officially 7 days completed), net profits will be just over 1 Billion ISK. That should be enough to pay off my investors and VV for auditing once this is over :). This means I now have 3 weeks to make profit for myself.
My current model: Unlike my last bond, I haven't been focusing on regional buy orders, instead I've only been focusing on station trading. I don't want to do the 70 jump round trips to get all that stuff and haul it back, but I might just start flipping things wherever I happen to buy them with the regional buys. Current model is to have buy orders for (almost) every ship - updating entire list when I can or partial lists sometimes. Whenever I have deliveries, I check if there is still a buy order for that ship, and if not, I put another one up. I update all of my buy orders when my wallet reaches a certain level (can't let it get too low with Margin Trading V) I update my sell orders whenever I get a chance. I have limited trade in another hub with an alt. This strategy is bringing in decent earnings, but I think I can improve.
Tidbits: Most profitable item of the week: Somewhat surprisingly; Hulk Second most profitable: Tengu Third: Daredevil Times I gave back a T2 BPO: Zero
Disappointments or downfalls of the week: Nothing big this week :) I'd have liked to have a bit more time to update orders I suppose. A couple mornings I woke up to a pretty full delivery bay, but didn't have time before class to update my orders. I got it taken care of about 5 hours later, but those 5 hours would have been nice. It surely cost me a few million I could have had.
Plans for improvement: I need to analyze which buy orders are not making much profit and also those which are not being filled. Once I have a list worth updating, I will have extra ISK in my wallet that would have been in escrow for the wasteful items. I can put that ISK towards the other hub's trading activities, as they are very low right now. I am also considering regional buy plans.
Thoughts: I'm reaching the point I have read about where a trader can't just pummel one niche with ISK and produce more of it at the same rate. This is a little disappointing, but it's exciting at the same time. I may need to factor this into my further bonds, but frankly I enjoy having 5% on collateralized and 10% on uncollateralized portions. I'm going to keep it that way for as long as I think I can, and at least as long as it makes sense to do so. I will guarantee to offer at least one more bond at these rates (to start roughly a few days after the end of this bond). But there's no reason to get ahead of myself just yet, so I'll discuss that more when it gets closer!
Edit: Said "Gross profits" instead of "Net profits."

Wow, it's time for the week 2 update already!
The breakdown of week 2: - This week was very slow as far as EVE has gone for me. - I've been swamped with assignments in school, term papers (so early in the quarter!), and group projects. - All in all, I think the bond is up something like 5% this week. - It's a little disappointing to see such little progress, but I simply haven't had the time to update my orders two or more times a day like I have been able to in the past. - I'm still having success with pretty much the same methods I was using last week, with my only major impediment being that I can't update my sell orders multiple times per day.
What's going to happen in the future: - I imagine most of this bond will see similar slow growth. Unless something miraculous happens, my workload for school won't slow down this quarter. - Luckily, at five percent I'm still pulling in a decent profit. It's certainly nothing to be ashamed of and I'm past the point of paying back my investors, so it's all on me from here on out. This is great news for everyone involved, it just means that my next bond can't be too much larger than this one if larger at all. - I'll continue with similar trading methods unless I find the time to implement a new strategy. Since I can't update as often, I have some ideas in mind.
Everything is looking good, even though I'm not pulling in the 10-15% increase that I'm used to weekly.
See you all next week! Hopefully with more returns!

The week 3 update!
I believe there was significant success over last week's efforts. Looks like I again was not able to pull in 10%, which is admittedly disappointing. However, there was still decent growth and the current NAV of the bond is roughly 9.5 billion. It's not horrible, but I wouldn't exactly call it a success.
Unfortunately, the root of the problem with the success of this bond so far has been my inability to update my orders as frequently as I need to in order to pull in over 10% returns each week (with a week left, it's unlikely to go very much further because I will be selling off stock). What this shows is that if my personal schedule continues the way it has been (I expect it to be the way it is now for another 8 weeks or so), I'll need to change the way I'm approaching trading. It might be time to get out of Jita or find some other way of increasing margins so I can not be so actively trading.
Successes for the week were nothing spectacular. I managed to find a couple of good deals where players put items for sale at .01 over the buy orders, presumably on accident, but the gains on those purchases wasn't too great. There were also no major failures however, which is great.
Not much of an update this week, I'm afraid. I'll be back in a week or so with a payout to the investors.
Plans for my next bond are to follow. Along with results of the performance audit being performed on this bond. My next bond will not look to expand much in size, if at all, on this one. The reason for no further expansion is that I need to first find a more successful model or lower my interest rates, which I have promised earlier that I would not do for at least one more bond.
See you all in a week! -Kei Darker

A quick note to investors and anyone else interested:
2 days left on this thing. It turned out much less profitable than I had hoped, but that was due to my own time constraints and inability to be updating constantly, as with previous bonds. Luckily, there was still profit in it for all involved parties, including myself, though the slice that goes to me is rather small compared to previous bonds I've offered. I'm ok with that though, since it's my fault for not having the time or drive to update orders constantly. I'll have a full report within the next few days, as well as payouts on or before the end of April 28th.
Also, it sounds like VV is working on the audit, so we'll see how that looks soon as well I hope. Probably nothing spectacular, but it will show that I am moderately successful. :) Next time, I'll have to try some different things.
See you all in a couple of days with the report and some plans for the future.

No problem (the error was from failure to renew one of the accounts before the sub ran out. Got it taken care of now)
Will make payment on the 28th then.

The audit must be out ASAP, since I have an massive other audit in queue to start.
The EvE API will let me perform the post-maturity run in about 6 hours from now (1 day API cooldown for assets). I'll start calculating and plotting what's needed once the 4 softwares had their 1 hour cooldown each past the other (they cannot run overlapped). Therefore the audit will be out either late today (in CET terms) or tomorrow and in any way after Kei Darker reviewed it.

We'll see what comes out of VVs audit. I'm guessing it will say something along the lines of "shows ability to trade, but could do better." Depending on what the audit ends up costing, that 7 percent profit for myself will probably be more around 3-5 percent. Ah well!
I'm going to take a little break before offering my next bond, which will most likely be similar in size to this one until I can make a more decent profit at this level of trading. I'm in no rush to offer something larger if I will only end up breaking even. See you in about a week or so, most likely. Possibly sooner I suppose.
