Ive been suffering heavily from random CDT since january just like a lot of the people in this forum.
However, after installing the last OS X patch (10.6.7) they seem to actually have disappeared.
After being able to be online for some time without crashing I decided to see if things seemed more stable, so I did a little over 140+ jumps in total traveling back and forth between Rens & Ardene a few times. No CDT...
Naturally Im very happy about this, but also not convinced. Does anyone else that used to suffer from jump CDTs see the same improvements as I do after the last OS X patch?
Also, looking at when the previous OS X patch (10.6.6) was available the date shows january 6, 2011... the timeframe does seem to fit since I recall the CDTs started to pop up frequently somewhere round there.
The crash dumps from the CDTs I have been getting points to null pointer exceptions in the transgaming layer, close to the OS X graphics drivers from what I can see. Since updates of the graphics drivers are done through Apple I spy another incriminating feature...
Anyway, I just hope EVE is stable enough to use on the mac now, a little while ago even 10 jumps in a row yielded at least one CDT. 140+ was unthinkable.
Finally a little system info: Macbook pro 2010 Nvidia geforce GT 330M 1600x1050
Multithreaded opengl: ON Shadows: ON Resource cache: ON HDR: OFF Depth effects: OFF AA: OFF Post processing: OFF Shader quality: HIGH Texture quality: HIGH LOD quality: HIGH

For me, no, the game is unplayable and I have sent in a petition for the first time.
My system freezes and I cannot force quit or tab out, sometimes I get a blank screen sometimes I get odd graphic glitches.
I have the latest OS X software and latest patch, 10.6.7 , however with the graphic glitches I don't know if this is part of the iMac freezing or this points to the graphics drivers as you mentioned.

Well, after another session of jumping (about 150 jumps this time) on different hardware, same OS:
iMac 27" corei7 2010 ATI Radeon HD 4850 resolution 2560x1440 OS X 10.6.7
Eve settings as in OP
I did get one random crash to desktop this time so Im guessing I should have bought a lottery ticket last night than played EVE..
300 jumps and 1 CTD is surely an improvement, but the CTD impact on gameplay is too big to accept. One CTD is still one too many.

My crashes occur when I go to PI view. Seems to also require high graphics settings and my being in space. I normally keep the graphics all set low to suppress the issue. Tested on high, still crashes. One time I even got a "unhandled exception" error.
System info, cases that generate crashes: MacBookPro6,1 Nvidia geforce GT 330M 1920x1200
Multithreaded opengl: ON or OFF Shadows: ON or OFF Resource cache: ON or OFF HDR: ON or OFF Depth effects: ON or OFF AA: OFF (ON not tested) Post processing: HIGH Shader quality: HIGH Texture quality: HIGH LOD quality: HIGH
The last 4: did not test other settings this round, but last time I tested, shader quality seems to be the biggest cause.

The problem you are having isn't anything to do with eve. It's because of your settings before 10.6.7. Reset all your computer setting so they are default or do a full reset and this will salve the problem.
Also this problem has been going on well before 10.6.7. It started with 10.6.1 and if you didn't have problems with it then, then the added patches and your settings finally caught up to you.
This problem has been posted many many times at the Apple site around the time that 10.6 came out so check there.

Apple.com does not mention anything. What apple site you mean? What setting do you mean? What are the lottery numbers for tomorrow?

1-2-3-4-5-6-7. Bet everything you have on those numbers, you have my word they they are just as good as any other possible lottery numbers.
I actually work at Apple in tech support, and suffer from just as many crashes on my various Macs as everybody else, so this is news to me. I would also like to know what the poster meant by "reset all computer settings". I guess you could erase your drive and start from scratch, but that's kind of pointless since the crashes happen on 4 different computers here with nothing shared between them. I'll even sometimes test Eve on brand new macs that were just taken out of the box at work, and crashes are just as common.
The crashes happens a lot less than it did back with the Oct-Dec settings, but it's still enough of a hassle to cause me some kind of loss more than once a week, either from drones or more painfully ships.
