1 of those was free. Here's the reasons I put in the reason part to CCP:
"Maybe a needed a better corp or something. My corp seemed not to do many corp things. Basically unless you're super powerful you just run around doing missions (that get repetitive and the agents say the same thing over and over), mining (now there's something really worth paying money to do), and getting more stuff for your ship. All the while working on skills that take increasingly longer to get to the next level. In real life it doesn't take you 10 times the amount in time to get 2% better in a craft or career you may have from the last time you did it."
"For instance why does it take 2 days to get to level 4 of a skill and then 10 days to get to level 5? Seems like a nice way to keep players hooked on the game and paying fees. Be nice if you could pay $2 a month to just go on periodically to set your skills but no real play."

The only missions Ive ever done was the tutorial ones. Most of my corpmates would say the same.
I mine less than once a month, but I dont really NEED to do that.
You definately chose the wrong corp.

I dont think youd find many proper players who would agree with that.

Sorry to hear that you didn't enjoy your time in EVE but it sounds like you weren't in the right corp for you. Finding the right corp isn't easy, I guess you need a bit of luck on your side sometimes.
gl with everythin, if you ever decide to come back your account will still be there.
Which PA character are you?

you need to try other corps tbh. And for most things you dont need to be super powerful, you can do most things in eve (even PvP) with very few skill points. You just do them better with more.
Rash decesion imo, try another corp first and make sure its goals and style match yours.

For the skills, they are done that way so the new players have a chance to catch up with the experienced players. The higher training times are put in so the more experienced players have something to specialize in, while gaining a small, but otherwise effective bonus.
As for all the stuff you done, I got to say, you have pretty much done all the boring stuff. You should try doing PVP, lots of excitement there. And just because you are a lowbie doesn't mean you are useless. Even the experienced guys are dependant on the low skill guys for their ability to fly frigates and tackle our targets. You just need a fast frigate or interceptor, High Speed Manuevering and Propulsion Jamming and you are set for some frontline PVP action. -------------------------------- CCP can patch away bugs, but they can't patch away stupidity. |

I believe that Eve caters to a smaller niche of the MMORPG crowd. Not everyone is as attached to the Space theme as are to some other genres.
I used to talk about not EVER paying monthly for a game, and I had already tried Eve 3 times (Beta, and 2 trials). I couldnt get into it. Simply because I didn't find a corp with the right things for us.
The last time, I was recruited into a small corp that I made friends in quickly. And that was what kept me in the game. I have since left the corp and do my own thing. After a few months, when you have built a good base for your character. Things get more interesting. Now looking at options in joining some PvP corp.
However, I have also tried other MMORPGs. And, for instant gratification, WoW, Everquest and some of the other ones out there take the cake. Eve requires patience. Even now, after nearly 4 months into the game, I feel annoyed that training a certain skill to lvl 5 would take me 20+ days. However, I have come to accept this. I am more addicted to the genre than to Eve itself. For an hrly basis of enjoyment, my 10 days of WoW beta testing were more fun packed than Eve. Yet I stick around. PvP ofcourse adds something else to the mix. PvP on Wow isnt nearly as fun as this.

I love the game but I can only handle it in small doses. I cancle my account quite a bit to take a break.
Necessary for all MMORPGs. If you don't take breaks ,they'll wear out quick.
and grendels. Would it take less time for me, an ameuture(sic) to get 2% better at uh.. painting a picture then it would for the best artist in the world to get 2% better?
i do wish they did a charge by the minute thing. I would love to be able to continue training skills while I take a break. Maybe 10 logins with a maximum of 10mins each for $1 a month or something. I'm sure A LOT of people who cancle accounts would keep them open this way. ________

You are so right... Take a break from the game and when you come back it will seem ten times better... Mind you, I just cancelled my EQ2 account and that is while I was still inside the 30 day trial period... For me a very boring game... I came back to eve (for the 3rd time) and for some reason the game is really working for me this time round. I've even started an ALt!!! ---------------------------------------------- Life - Don't tell me about Life - Marvin |

CCP have chosen to cater to the large corporations, so if not in one you're up Wicked Creek with a russian built paddle & in for a revolting experience. I can't say that I blame you for leaving.
Myself I'm still on the canoe in hope of the powers that be some day waking up and realizing not everyone can be crammed into their rather unimaginative mould.

EVE has plenty of solo and small group content. No, you cant realize your dream of owning a 0.0 region without having to fight for it, because there are other people who also have that dream. And more balls.

Hmmph.
It was our corp he is talking about. Too bad you feel this way, and even worse, didn't have the cajones to bring it up to us first if you felt we weren't a good fit for you.
Been at this game just about two years now, and like to consider myself one of the most approachable players and our corps one of the most open. One of the things I did notice about your playing was the issue with the "lack of instant gratification" component. As for pvp and 0.0, lots of overtures made, but I don't recall if you actually came along. Never saw you there and new opportunities appear to be arising.
One thing I would ask, if the next time you come across a group you are not certain about, tell them first. We all pretty old folks considering a few of us are from the Old Farts Corp who have branched away and we can handle criticism. We have taken the same guidelines as the OF, but basically aren't neutral to everyone/anyone. However, we try to conduct ourselves as honourably as possible with a little more freelance then actual structure evidence in the OF.
GL to you in future endeavours although I am somewhat miffed you didn't give us a heads up. Thanks for not mentioning us I guess I should say, although a quick visit of your character's history would have shown anyone who wanted to know which corp you belonged too.
