I was looking to set up a POS in high sec. I have set up a POS in WH space, so I know the basics. It's been a while so maybe I could bounce a few questions off those reading this thread.
I will have to purge my corp (into a holdings corp) to clean up the standings. Approximately how long does it take for standings to adjust (I have heard 1-2 weeks). A few of us have the standings, it is the rest of the corp that brings the corp average below what we need.
When it comes to standings, are the pre-adjusted numbers taken into account or are the adjusted (after skills) numbers used?
I have read that alliance members can only do PE and ME research. Does that still hold true? Some of the threads on the topic are from 2009. Considering CCP's lack of concern when it comes to the POS mechanic, I would be surprised if that has changed. If at first you don't succeed, skydiving was not for you. |

As far as I know, it takes 7 downtimes for the standings to get sorted, don't forget they've got to be unmodified standings not modified by skills.
re alliance use, I think they can use them as long as they don't need access to put things in or take things out of the lab itself, so they can't copy since they need to be able to take the copies out, but should be able to do ME & PE but someone else can clafiry that. |

Should only take 1 DT, but you'll need to do some action that will cause your standings person's standings to change, so it gets recalculated.
People leaving corp doesn't change your standings (that's the why standings services work).
Standings are calculated every DT with only the people who have relevant standings and have been in corp for 7+ days, but only if someone's standings have changed since the last calculation.
Alliance members can do any research that doesn't require physical access to the POS labs. So, ME and PE of T1 BPOs only. EvE: Everyone vs Everyone

Players who have never had a standings adjustment +/- with a particular faction are not factored into the calculation at all, so you only need to remove players with standings that are too low. Players leaving corps does effect standings IF there are still characters in the corp with a standing to use, it is only if the remaining characters in the corp have no standings at all that the corp retains its old high standings when the standings character leaves. |

waiting a week was the "old" mechanic (used to be at DT you'd move 1/2 the difference between sCurrent and sCalculated). Nowadays it works like this.
1. add up all the (pre skill) standings of all members of the corp that have non-null standings who have been in corp for 7 days. 2. divide by the number of all members that meet this criteria.
so, for example, if you have a +6 toon (that's been in for months) and a -3 toon (that's been in 20 hours), your standings will stay at +6 until the -3 toon has been in for ~7 DT. On the 7th or 8th DT (depending on when the game figures the -3 toon has been in for 7 days) your standings will be dropped to +1.5 ((6 + (-3)) /2).
If you're in an alliance, non-corp members can only do things that DO NOT require input and/or DO NOT generate output. In general, this means "ME or PE research only" though there are certain types of BPOs that require datasheets (or some other input) to do the ME/PE research.
as always with standings, you may need to run a storyline in order to "kick" it into working, though since you're kicking people out of the corp, you may not need to do anything. |

Thank you all, this is very helpful. I am going to have to do some house cleaning to get the standings straightened out enough. I guess having a holdings corp to put people in while the standings adjust is just extra work. I am sure they can just stay in an NPC corp until such a time where they can rejoin the corp.
On a side note, it seems like maybe if they leave the corp and then rejoin again, their standing will not be factored until 7 more DT's. That would be great as it would keep people from being idle in an NPC corp. Additionally, if they leave and rejoin after 1 DT, the the refactor stop or continue and not take their standing until 7DT's have passed.
I am not really worried about attrition, but I trying to cause the least amount of impact possible. Any other suggestions? If at first you don't succeed, skydiving was not for you. |

I believe it is days not downtimes, but yes, you will have at least 7 downtimes to anchor towers.
I believe the anchoring limit is still enforced (at least I've not found mention of it being removed). It is 1 per system per day for a corporation, or 5 per system per day for an alliance. A holdover from pre-Dominion when SOV was held by having the majority of towers. |

It's 24 hours for their standings to clear, but it's only calculated at downtime. Easier to just consider it 2 DTs after they leave.

Not sure about highsec, but lowsec you can anchor at least 4 at once in same system, not sure what the max limit is per day . |

If you kick them out right before DT, you can invite them back in right after DT after checking that the standings have changed. (Tested a few times over the past year or two.) |
