I have been away from the game for a few months loggin in to put a skill in the queue. I came back and first day I found a 10/10 and did it.
2-3 days It's been and in those days I have found exactly NO deds before DT.
After DT there was 1 x 8/10
I swear before I had a bit of a break I was finding alot more than this. The area I roam around in is not massive on people doing them at all. Its not like there's alot of guys doing this where I am...
Have CCP changed the mechanics or is it just another reason for me to keep logged off? |

From my experience the chance of finding a DED rated complex in any given system is maybe 1 in 8.
Did you solo the 10/10? |

Oh it's that exploration 'expert' again. Welcome back dear.

Sooooooo.......you are basing your claim on.......2-3 days of scanning.........ok
When I was in null about 3 weeks ago I had 5 days with only 5 or 6 sites. Then in the next 4 days I had about 35 sites total ( not including profession sites ).

You only need several effective explorers to clean whole region of sites. If you are unlucky the sites will respawn far from your exploration grounds ( surprise, surprise - nullsec is BIG ).
TriadSte wrote:Have CCP changed the mechanics
Obviously. It has nothing to do with inherent randomness of EvE's exploration. Whenever someone has poor drops or finds less sites in a while it's because of an exploration nerf. Nothing has changed in that regard.

Yes.

Lets try not to spread stupid and useless bits of odds and chance okay?
There are simply too many variables to make such a statement:
- Number of systems in the region(s) the sites can spawn in
- Number of people plexing and thus forcing respawns
- Number of DED sites
- Number of sites with that iHub upgrade increasing chance of respawns
- Multiple sites spawning (and possibly stacking up) in a given system
Your anecdotal observation is nice and everything, but mostly useless. |

Your anecdotal observation is nice and everything, but mostly useless. I completely agree, I was just trying to be helpful from what I've found, which is in Caldari high-sec. I didn't want the OP to think there would be DED complexes in most systems he visited.
I think you could be more polite as I found your post rather terse. |

I use 2 characters but indeed with 2 they're simple.
For the info of some I have been doing these a very long time but have simply noticed that in my region they are sparse compared to what I remember. I remember doing about 2 per day and they may have been 7-8-10/10 but thesedays Im struggling to find any... |

FWIW, about a month ago I moved to a corner of Venal (null sec Gurista NPC space) looking for plexes with an Ishtar. After cruising through a pocket of 6 or 7 systems several times a week I jumped back to high sec to search for the more plentiful 3/10 and 4/10 sites.
To be specific, I found 1 DED site (an 8/10 that was being run by others already) during the month in null sec (from approximately 70 system scans). I did end up with a couple hundred million isk from various anomalies, radar, and mag sites. But even these were rarer then I expected.
I don't believe exploration is broken - I know random is random and have experienced the dry spells in the past. And no doubt this was just a case of bad luck. But my first experience with null sec exploring was totally under-whelming.
I still have the jump clone and Ishtar out there in Venal and will return sometime to continue the search. Hopefully with luck on my sideGǪ

you have to remeber gurista sites are pooled between all the gurista regions and there is alot more systems than caldrie high sec |

NPC null sec is in my experience the absolute worst place to ever look for plexes. NPC null is among the busiest null space there is. NPC null is much better for pirate faciton missions and officer spawns.
You can't judge null sec exploration by NPC null at all just like its kind of silly to compare high sec exploration to null, they are 2 totally different animals.
As for the op, exploration is dynamic and highly variable, it's that way by design, which is why when i can't find anything within a few jumps of my "home" I just hit the anomalies and sometimes get "exploration via escalation" as I like to call it. But that's totally random too lol.
As for some thinking Salazar is "terse" (and he is lol), understand that it's at least several times a week that someone comes to the forum and proclaims that SOMETHING MOST BE BROKEN because they did some scanning or some plexing and didn't make 50 billion isk in 30 minutes or less. After the 7000th such post, it gets a bit tired. |

Ahhh... Thanks for the insight. As I said, I'm new to null sec exploration. I'll wander into some of the neighboring (non-NPC) regions and try my luck.

precisely this...sites are so easy to find in high sec caldari space because theres sooooooooooooooooooooooooo many people combing through the regions so sites are constantly respawning....there's a lot less explorers in null and a lot more systems...so sites don't move around as much
