Beams and pulses sound like you're blasting some solid projectiles down the range. What is up with THAT? The sounds need to be more "electric", more like the star wars lighsaber and less "bangy".
Also, hybrids, especially blasters need more bass. Example
I have pretty decent audio equipment that's able to reproduce deep lows as well mid frequencies and these 2 turrets bother me a lot.

I have not had sound on in a while as voice coms are hard to hear over it but I agree with what you are saying. |

EVE as a whole needs a complete audio revamp. I don't think it has been touched since 2004 and that is a shame. |

eve has sound? {anyone actually listens to?} Its not possible to please all the people all the time, but it sure as hell is possible to Displease all the people, most of the time.

I think the laser sounds are great, they're just at the wrong end of the laser. The laser firing should be more or less silent, the laser point of impact should be where the bangs and buzzes and hisses of vapourising metal happen |

Agreed, especially after the turret/missile hardpoint revamps, V3, and nebulaes, and various other graphical touch-ups makes the sound seem even more outdated. |

I agree, i cant play EVE with my surround sound as it makes me sad, that and i'm usually on TS anyway.
Lasers should charge then release, Hybrids should be be a low bassy sound mixed with a light sabre as the op stated, And Projectiles should sound like you have an artillery piece in the next room.
I would also like to see racial ship engine noises. With Minmatar sounding Like Massive diesel engines. I've yet to come up with ideas for the other races |

The only important sounds in eve are the warning tones when your HP is getting low and some informations from your on-board A.I. like no cap or reloading. I mostly don-¦t hear the turrets cause i set it to quit turrets cause they are to loud in TS and normaly zoom far out.
And if I-¦m not in TS I listen radio. so what was the problem again.
But I would agree that the sounds should be reworked cause the english voice for the A.I. sounds creepy. After less then an hour listening to it I set my client back to German. And it means a lot when i think that a German voice is much more pleasent then the original English one. |

The whole "Eve has sound?" bandwagon should just move into a WH for a while, yes Eve has sound, and its even usefull sound! Woohooo who would have seen that comming?
No idea about Hybrids because I cant use them but Laser could really use some more laser like sounds, the sound of the Khaak beam weapons from the X series for example fits these kind of weapons really well.

Autocannons and mega pulse laser sounds were great before Quantum Rise.
I miss the '' TCHHHHWWWWWWWWWOOOW' of the mega pulse.
Autocannons now sound like someone's cooking some pop-corn . |

The reason people don't play with sound on is because eve has crap sound, not because it isn't wanted/valuable.
Music hasn't changed, effects haven't changed, it is essentially still the same stuff. |

The reason people play with no sound is because then you can't hear the FC. If eve suddenly had the best sound effects in any game on the market..... people still wouldn't use it. |

On large scale fights, you always zoom out to see the entire battlefield to avoid some lag, so the eve sounds wouldn't be a problem for your FC voice..but your argument is invalid anyways. |

besides that, im all in for some new sound effects. though i actually like the general direction of the laser sounds. hybrids could use more hissing followed by some sort of bass drop :D and while we are at it: some form of "progression" from small to very big would be nice. atm it seems a bit "shuffled"
maybe a littleoff-topic: xl - autocannons sound like uzies, and small/medium autocannons sound like shuffling a deck of cards on the table... but most of all I'd like to have more sliders in the sound options. i do not wnat to have the windy ambient sounds in rouge drone sites and the nonsense chatter next to structures very loud only because i wnat to hear my guns firing and the star gates swooshing.
ambient and effect sounds should be separated. |

I like the idea of having the rolling thunder sound after a blaster goes off. Capital weapons should definitely do this, especially capital artillery. You fire off a volley and you should still be hearing it echo off space for the next 10 seconds.

It's better than it was before, but it needs to be better than it is now. Wrong. EVE voice would have to be a separate application, kinda like EA's Sonar in BF3. It just sits there in the tray regardless of the game. The problem with EVE voice is that if your game crashes, you're out of comms. And that's not what you want. |
