"Allow your plans to be as dark and impenetrable as night, and when you move, fall like a thunderbolt"
Myxx stepped out of the building into the cool night, she was in the middle of nowhere and had traveled for days to get here. It was worth it, however. She had come to see someone.
The man stood about ten feet away, he wasn't smiling, or frowning - his stare was rather neutral, his lips creased in complete indifference either through genuinely not caring, or a great many years of practice.
Myxx nodded as she approached, offering a faint smile to this friend of hers, "Thank you for seeing me. I undersand how valuable your time is" she quietly whispered as she neared him. He could hear her, and he nodded in return. "I'm sure you understand why I'm here, what I've sent you ahed of time I believe proves what we feared all along. What happened was merely a side effect of this."
The man stared at her, blankly as he considered what she had just said before quietly nodding in agreement, "How goes your plans despite this?" he questioned in return.
"Good, The General was almost killed the other night - it managed to escape as it had seen the attack coming. Coil is here with me - she sends her regards by the way, I'm sure you recall her".
"You two were two of my finest, I'm glad she is doing well."
"Timeus is taking care of what I've set in motion while I'm here, and Exarch is working on his own thing. Everyone else is biding their time doing similar. I do not believe it to be a wise idea to show our hand just yet - Mister Brown would agree. Your thoughts?"
"Continue as you have, you're doing well. I believe that the entire business that you got sidetracked with was a poor choice, but I understand the necessity of doing so. You are better off now, you might say. You know what I have to say on the rest."
"What of the problem I've uncovered?"
"Don't concern yourself with it, you were correct in bringing it to me. It will be delt with in time, I will see to it"
Myxx sighed, audibly concerned but understanding the finality of the statement. They had been walking together as they spoke, the ground underneath them covered in grasses and many different native plants to this world, the entire color spectrum covered and laid out before them in what could be said to be a painting with thousands of types of flora. The air was cool, and damp - it had rained recently, possibly the night before.
"All of your enemies are in one spot, be patient and allow them to become closer together. The predictions you have made are spot on as far as I or my associates can tell. You learned well from me on reviewing history. Continue as you have, child"
The last remark wasn't an insult, quite the contrary - this man was a mentor to her, she used to be his student. Referring to her as a child wasn't more than an endearing term - she wasn't his enemy, but was a friend, someone he rather cared to keep watch over.
Myxx very slowly nodded as she considered the remark, reviewing everything in hindsight. She should of stayed put before all of this had transpired, but it might work out for the best. With the correct planning, and execution, she would become signifigantly more free than ever before. The test - probably what he would find most interesting - was in proper execution, patience and timing.
She had seen this coming, however, and planned accordingly. The time spent toiling away at all of the various problems to get there would be well worth the reward for her foresight and years of meticulous study. All of the various parties she had paid dues to would in turn assist her when it came time to cash in on her plans. |
