You can blame the tease on me.
Many companies, nVidia included, have run contests on Facebook just like this one. There must be a legal way to do it or those others wouldn't have been doing it all this time.
I think unless someone reports the company to facebook, nothing happens - but do you really want to run the risk of getting some legal action taken against CCP, or their name being slandered?
theyll just spawn titans on you and use some oldschool aoe doomsdays.

When you figure out how best to do the sweepstakes, please don't make facebook required.
Just put it on the main eve online site.

Notice that I said 'legal way'. Of course I don't want anything like that to happen to CCP, but many other major companies have run similar contests and sweepstakes on Facebook. If there was a chance of legal repercussions, those companies wouldn't do so. Therefore, there must be some legal way, through Facebook, to do this.

Just run the same competition on EVE Gate. Advertise it on Facebook, then get vets and non-players-who-might-be-interested to come and look at your shiny site and drool over internet spaceships. Win for all.

Originally by: CCP Wrangler I can definitely understand that some people don't want to leave that kind of footprint on the internet, and that is their right of course. But you have to have a Facebook account to be part of this giveaway.
Make a facebook account. Like the pages, when the event is over, Unlike the pages and delete account.
Its not that hard. Sure you'll be on the internets for a little bit. but don't you think it will be worth it if you win the pc? o.O? I know when its over, I'll unlike the PC company because I have no idea who they really are, or the quality of the products.

No, they were right, I had forgotten to include those small but very important details. So this was all my fault.
There are a lot of country's that the U.S. does not allow the export of technology to, then again, people living in those country's may not have a facebook account anyways.

Wait, so is this cancelled then? I don't have a facebook account and would prefer not to be forced to make one, but the system is so damn sweet I'll do it if I have to. I just want to make sure this thing is actually going through before I do so.

Get your facts straight. I've submitted countless online forms, ordered bundles of stuff and joined dozens of online communities. Yet again i'll be damned if you can find anything on my real name etc. It's called not being an idiot while doing online ASL things. Facef**k is being an idiot online.(yes i just called all facebook users idiots, with probable cause aswell)

If only it worked that way. Make an account, google indexes the page, you "delete" account = google still has your page and so does facebook since you don't really think they'd delete all that precious data they could sell to anyone who wants it? ___________

It has nothing to do with "crazy conspiracy people". I'm not even going to try and explain but you seriously need to get out from under that rock you've been living. There's an ETC. in that line for a reason... ___________

I'm not scared of it, nor stressed about my personal data. I just refuse to use Facebook because it's rubbish. And there are enough rubbish things in my life without having to go out of my way to take part in more.
Like I said, what's wrong with running this competition on EVE Gate?

That's ok - instead of wasting my time on the massive cluster of fail that is Facebook, I've got a job, been payed some money, and bought a better computer, with the laser etched art work of my choice on the side.
I want to take part in the competition, but with Facebook involved it's simply to high a price to pay to not win it (as that is what will happen).

I for one am dealing with the constant use of Facebook in every aspect of our lives... even on TV you have the FB sites of whatever hairgel/laxative/consumable they are selling.
deal with it, people. Times are-a-changing, even if you don't like FB. why don't you make a troll account/character account?
