Fix/workaround for the strip miner and ice harvester,,,
Go into a station and remove the modules, repackage them and then remount them on your barge. They'll work normally until you shut them off again.

I sure hope 1.4.1 fixes the strip miner problem. No deactivation until end of cycle? You what? Don't think I could stand mining like that for more than about 3 seconds. My finely tuned, expertly timed, elegant dance through an asteroid field is completely screwed by this newly introduced bug.
If it aint fixed in 1.4.1, I may have to lower myself to PVPing tonight.
Or if this is an intended feature, then CCP is a complete and utter bull**** munching company. ;)

Just to join the crowd of players, regarding screen flickering or blinking when starting eve. Have that problem too.
Same problem here. Nvidia GeForce 240GT, 196.21 drivers, Windows XP SP3.
And I updated my drivers 2 days ago. |

What are you using to update the nvidia drivers? Windows update? They are miles behind the ball. Using Nvidia's own driver selection process on their site you should be up to 266.58 by now for your current driver

I viewed it in my browser and the quality is considerably worse than the client one. Well the lighting is better on the server render but the texture quality is horrible.. specifically on the shirts textures and parts where the skin joins the shirt looks very stretched and the hair looks extremely jagged.
Which character is it? Can you link me to the image?
Thanks Mindstar
I can see the texture is much worse on the server side render. Aliasing isn't so bad on the server image though. Server: http://image.eveonline.com/Character/884399433_512.jpg Client: http://dl.dropbox.com/u/5273861/884399433_512.jpg
You can see the shirt is way worse on the server render. This was reported back in the server vs client render thread before the character creator was even on TQ though so I don't expect it to change anytime soon.

Edited by: Sonya Rayner on 07/04/2011 02:27:54 Now, i log in, happily recreate one of my alt characters (as a test), wait a few minutes untill the server refreshes the image, and when it finally does, i go all WTF: Linkage (i recreated it from the pre-login popup).
Also other character has some troubles as well: * Server image * Client image
Notice the extra eyebrows on the server image as well a missing tattoo (it may be missing because i've set the opacity for it at a minimum, yet the problem is that image is unsynced between the client and server).
Also, the low-res textures problem, that has been reported a lot of times already.

This sucks sooo bad.
My internet connection kept disconnecting throughout the download. It took almost 4 hours to download with disconnects about every 3 or 4 minutes.
When it went to install, it said the file was broken. It then downloaded a repair tool. It then repaired the files and began installing. I was thinking WOW, CCP has an awesome installer! The installer began installing, but then failed at the end. It then attempted to re-downoaded the repair tool. However, I lost connection again during the download of the repair tool and this caused the application to just exit without any notification or error.
When I attempt to start eve, it tells me to run repair.exe in the game directory, but there isn't any such file.
Now the eve client is completely hosed and it appears I'll now have to attempt a multi gigabyte download...
Good grief.

OK, Perhaps they DO have an awesome install, just bugged out when the repair tool failed to fully download.
I have since downloaded the repair.exe file. It then updated itself. It's now repairing the install.... Looks good so far. :)

Got mid way through autopatching and patcher crashed, giving me the 'Eve-Autopatcher has encountered a problem' etc etc. So,reopened the client thinking it would ask if I would like to download the new build, but client wouldnt open resulting in a message saying that 7 files in the bin/lib folders were corrupt/modified and to run repair tool. Ran the repair tool,it updated some missing blocks (none which seemed to be from the bin/lib folders however) Repair complete, reopen the client for it only to tell me that the same 7 files are corrupt and need to run repair tool. Run repair tool and it immediately closes stating that there is an 'invalid argument'. Client will not open at all (keeps saying those 7 files are corrupt) Repair tool will not run (Keeps giving the invalid argument error)
Don't have the gig to download a full client until the 28th (I only get 12gig a month =\ ) |

Try moving those seven files elsewhere (outside of the EVE folder, as backups "just in case") and run the repair tool again.

I can see the jobs listed in the slots, but the jobs do not appear in the S&I window.
6) if someone assigns an item exchange to you for 0 isk (which is often the case when you send items to/from your alts) the item exchange will not appear if you have your "Contract Type" filter set to "Exclude Want To Buy." Giving someone items via contract for zero isk isn't "WTB."
7) doing a contract search with the following parms item type: blank location: all regions contract type: exclude want to buy item category: blueprint original item group: all exclude multiple items: unchecked exact type match: unchecked price: both ranges left blank availability: public high: checked low: checked zero: unchecked issuer: blank
should return only blueprint originals price descending. Instead it returns all item types price descending. In otherwords setting "item category" to either "All" or "Blueprint Original" returns the same result set. Setting the filter to "Bluerpint" appears to work as intended. Both "Blueprint copy" and "Blueprint original" appear to return the PREVIOUS filter settings. The other filter settings appear to work correctly.

NPC jamming from Sabateurs is ridiculous. A single one can reduce the lock on range of Stabber Lidar 13 to under 50 meters. Basically I flew as close as I could to a light missile battery without being able lock on. Plus the effect seemed to continue even when active jamming indicators were off -- as if my sensor suite had beeen destroyed or offlined as long as I remained in the Gurista Den.
I assume this was an unintentionally large increase in NPC jamming power. The Sabauer is a rather common NPC rat. I am guessing other NPC ship are in the same group with overactive jamming ability.
Yes I know mounting sensor boosting modules might help. But given limited module slots and some missions etc that have multiple types of sensor jamming -- NPC jamming should reduce or limit player sensor lock on.. NOT eliminate it.

Probably a "Feature" introduced to reduce supply of mineral on market and thus increase their value. Also to separate the REAL miners from those people with more common mental diseases. ROFLMAO
Seriously its much worse with strip miners 3minute cycle as I can testify.

Guristas don't sensor-damp, so a sensor-booster won't help in any way, nor will it ever help to fly closer. Guristas jam your ship so you can't lock on at all.
You'll want to fit ECCM modules to combat that effect. ùùù ôIf you're not willing to fight for what you have in ≡v≡à you don't deserve it, and you will lose it.ö ù Karath Piki |

EDIT: I do remember adjusting the transparency setting of the tattoo, could be a rendering error from from the server due to that, possibly.
FYI: Not sure BUT I seem to remember from last time that when everyone is changing portraits there is quite a delay from when you finish local character portrait to when the portrait is ready on main CCP servers. Basically I do not think portraits are done on a strictly real time basis on the CCP end. To prevent "illegal" portraits, I believe CCP uploads portrait command/data files and re-renders portraits for general distribution via central servers. This server-side rendering is done on a separate server as time is available to process the next toon in line. Sometimes (after major revisions) the line gets long. Batch processing and likely on what is essentially a jumped up desktop CPU.
Try logging off and on again every few hours to see if CCP servers have caught up with portrait workload.
