Right, so I go select my 50 fittings to be stored clientside - mostly more exotic fittings, 'cause the reasonable fits are easy to find on forums, from friends, etc...
I hit OK, get the "your remaining fittings and fittings lacking modules have been dropped in ___________.xml" file, and go "Alright, I'll just go reimport them again so I can see them ingame..."
Well, apparently you can't have more than 50 fits displayed in your personal fittings window, regardless of whether they come from the server or a clientside file? I get that CCP doesn't want to load up the server with more than 50 fits per person, but can't we point the client toward a local file for further fits? DISCLAIMER: I am not a serious programmer and have no idea if there is some programming issue limiting this; logically, however, it makes very little sense to me for the client to not be able to handle more than 50 fits, provided they are coming from somewhere else than the server.
So, either A, I'm a complete idiot and am missing something obvious; B, it should be able to but something is broked; or C, there's a reason (ranging from bad decisions to reasonable programming limitations) that it can't. Thoughts/comments/whatever? ----------------------------------------------

From the latest patch notes: "Players can now store 50 fittings on the server, making them accessible from any computer. Additional fittings may be saved locally into an XML file."
My question is why those locally saved XML files cannot be displayed ingame alongside the 50 I've saved to the computer. ----------------------------------------------

Theres a workaround for it.
You can use an alt to store 50 more fittings, then start a convo/send a mail from him to your main when you want those extra fits
A game with as many ships to fly and only 50 fittings-classic Haleuth |

Edited by: Aessoroz on 07/04/2011 00:50:50 CCP, somehow making what should be only 2 tables worth of data into a complex task. Or at least store the fitting xml gzipped in what should be pretty ridiculously small in size given its all text.

CCP are so horribly inept at understanding the average player. Who the hell needs server-side fittings when it so horribly gimps your ability to have fittings to hand? Utterly dumb. ~~~
