This would hurt the botters and also remove isk from the game. The best systems would have high populations as they do now and botters would not operate there.

Edited by: sableye on 07/04/2011 02:27:25 if they lowered bounties like that it would make then completly useless right now many poor 0.0 systems already can't complete with level 4 missions for isk generation nervmind if it made it worse, it may work if you remove bounties off mission npc's though or vastly reduced them.

For a lark, do the reverse.
Up the bounties in every 0.0 system by 300%.
Then all those "useless" systems would suddenly have smaller corps/alliance's living in them.
CCP is all worried about bots.
But the simple truth is, most of them are designed for empty systems. The second someone else comes in they warp off, and log off/cloak.
So if every system in 0.0 was worth it for normal folk to rat/mine in, then every system would be worth less to botters.
Populate 0.0 and the Bots go away as then they have to interact(lol read die) with normal players. If every system had 10 REAL people in it over a 24 hour period, the Bots would never get any ratting in. And the ratting they DID get in, would be so sporadic as to be useless as a passive income.

What about drone space? I mean a Drone Horde was already worth less than Havens/Sanctums.
I do agree that increasing the bounties would increase traffic, but I don't think there goal is really to get more folks into 0.0. Otherwise they wouldn't have done what they are doing since there is no way the guys in poor 0.0 can afford to attack those big power blocks in good 0.0...
I also agree the best way to get rid of bots is increased real person participation. Real People will get mad at the bots taking their stuff and devise new schemes to rid the galaxy of them.

Why doesnt CCP make it's own bot that jumps through systems (as Im sure they know who/what is in each system. If the toon instawarps everytime. Ban them... fight the bot with a bot.

It's already in game and has been like that in game since day 1 (or at least for as long as I can remember)... better true sec has better rats in it with higher bounties.
So for example in -1 system you'll get 3x 1.8 mil BS rats in a single belt, where as in -0.01 systems you'll only get 1-2 x 800k BS rats per belt and some BC or below rats.

Edited by: IIIAsharakIII on 07/04/2011 08:23:06 Sometimes its hard to tell whether we're trying to go after RMT or bots or both. Because by removing isk from the game, won't you be making the value of isk higher on the RMT market, thus leading to more botting and RMT? The more profitable the business, the more encouraged one is to succeed. And making it harder for average players to make isk only drives them into the RMTs' arms.

Belts haven't been used at all since Dominion; Low-end minerals are bought in Jita from high-sec miners (lol-bots). High-end minerals are bought in Jita from drone region ratters (lol-bots). ISK is automagically created in anomalies (lol-bots).
Even the bots vacated the belts and moved to the anomaly system, so what exactly would reduced bounties do?
Originally by: El'Niaga What about drone space? I mean a Drone Horde was already worth less than Havens/Sanctums. ...
Straight ISK perhaps, but once you factor in reduced manpower to get minerals the drone regions is one of the most lucrative areas in Eve (disregarding the broken moongoo) .. that's the reason it has been the capital nursery since its inception.
What CCP should do is remove bounties (almost) entirely, add more complexity to industry system (material handling/efficiency) and balance systems by giving various areas benefits to different aspects. A mine is pretty damn useless without a massive industrial backbone to actually use what is mined .. that backbone is non-existent in null.
Raw currency generation is the ultimate dumbing down mechanic of MMO's being based 100% on the grind. Eve still has a very basic crafting system albeit more extensive than most MMO's. Look at all the work that goes into producing a real world car, it is not just tossing a metric ton of minerals into a factory.
