Speculation on the location and true nature of Anoikis continues unabated, there seem to be as many conjectures theories as observers. I believe it is time we got to the bottom of this.
Relevant previous discussions
Possibilities Anoikis is : 1) distant part of the New Eden galaxy. 2) another galaxy in the same universe as New Eden. 3) another time, within either of the above. 4) another universe.
Evidence 1) Lianda Burreau's statement "(Data) strongly consider the possibility that this system resides in a galaxy other than our own" (1). 2) Navcom data that places various Anoikis systems approximately 1000 LY from currently known systems.

I've proposed a specific type of possible time travel implication in the past. Specifically relativity and traversible wormhole relativity mechanics.
In short, proving this would require proving that one end or the other of a given wormhole is in motion. Time travel in this manner requires either a static and a mobile end to the wormhole, or a "roman ring" of wormholes.
In this case proving the one-static-one-mobile hypothesis is as far as I know impossible in-game unless CCP decides to throw us a bone. The Roman Ring hypothesis feels somewhat likely given the clustering and spiral shape of w-space, and could be a bit more provable if someone could run a ring quickly enough before the wormholes collapse, but this could prove very difficult and if they drop back into k-space would be logically problematic.
In character, time travel in one of these manners seems quite plausible. Out of character, even if it is the case, I have no idea how we'd prove (or disprove) it.
More intriguing to me is the question of which end is the "source". As the Wikipedia article notes:
Originally by: Wikipedia One significant limitation of such a time machine is that it is only possible to go as far back in time as the initial creation of the machine; in essence, it is more of a path through time than it is a device that itself moves through time, and it would not allow the technology itself to be moved backwards in time. This could provide an alternative explanation for Hawking's observation: a time machine will be built someday, but has not yet been built, so the tourists from the future cannot reach this far back in time.
Given the events in Eve to date, the "source" event would appear to be the Seyllin Incident. However, it is clear that Sleeper drones were encountered before Seyllin, and several corps were on the trail of them beforehand (Zainou, CreoDron) and that the Sisters of Eve had knowledge and the COSMOS sites existed. So what if the original event was actually in w-space, driven by the Sleepers or Talocan? What if the original event was the EVE Gate itself?

Arvash.
I think that is an interesting idea for an RP perspective. However in terms of the helping solve the overall mystery I do not think it provides any answers.
If it was the case then different routes into a WH system would create end-points at different times. Essentially each WH system would need to be instanced, based on the route in. Since that doesn't seem to be the case I think that hypothesis can be discounted.
However how we eliminate it IC is a potentially interesting challenge. Dirac perhaps.

Thanks for the clarification of your proposal - you are saying you want to do a pure RP moment, with the goal of provoking a Dev response. Especially given some of TonyG's recent statements in an interview (that they pay attention to the RPers), it's an interesting idea. I think the trick will be whether they can come up with anything to reveal without spoiling Tony's book that's not due out for over a year. I suspect they will NOT risk spoiling the book no matter how hard we try. But that said, I am all for trying, it's worked on random occasions before (see also Mouse Nell).

I assume that isn't directed at me. I might be a little mad at CCP for not including things in-game, but that doesn't extend to fellow explorers.
Originally by: Wyke Mossari In terms of the helping solve the overall mystery I do not think it provides any answers.
No, I don't think it gives us answers ... but it might open more lines of questioning. If the Sleepers are our future (which IMHO looks even more likely with DUST - We Are All Infomorphs Now), it casts a different flavor on New Eden.

I haven't seen this proven or disproven. The time dilation would be felt by someone who "went the long way", not necessarily by someone who traversed the hole. That's the beauty of having them totally disconnected from one another - but also makes it harder to prove/disprove.

Yes, Mouse Nell, Ghost Hunter, Angelica Heavenbound, plus others.
TonyG also made some relevant comments in his fanfest presentation EVE Fanfest 2011: Words words words "we need to find meaningful ways to tell the story ingame" and "we want to continue to expose parts of the universe we can't in game."
Aslo the EVE Fanfest 2011: Live Events Panel
The "not even a you mad" was being self deprecating reference to myself.

Ya, you mad, but, then so am I. Or, so everyone would have us believe. Been quite busy lately and haven't had a chance to respond.
I am very interested in your proposal. That said, contact me ingame sometime.

After the recent revive of live events I wanted to bring this back into the working space.
How can we take this forward ?
Can we make interactive story telling answer the questions we want to ask ? |

The first step would be engaging the live events team in conversation, then.. Having a line of inquiry prepared, and a presentation that is able to direct the topical matter..
Perhaps one might start by trying to pry out hints of what knowledge the Sansha have that directly relates to wh space, beyond the obvious ability to project wormholes. A deeper understanding of how they plan to accomplish their goals.. |

It was actually the reason that I mentioned the incursion in another thread. I never was a great participant in them last year but I think now things are different or at least I am. I think if you push the right storyline buttons you might be able to do something.
Maybe this thread could be a collection of all things live events?
This thread has some information on the last incursion.
Funnily enough there are some lines of Miss Heavenbound02 missing which I found quite interesting.

Slave Heavenbound is the Sansha-fied wife and unborn daughter of a prominent RP personality in Eve. Apparently the wife AND child have been used to create the True Slave. |

Yeah found that too after posting, I'm still a bit in the dark concerning all things incursion live events. There is another way of explaining the fact that she seems a fusion of the two abducted family members which makes a lot more sense.

So... has anyone compiled a list of overhead views of the Sleeper installations yet?
They look like... something we should recognize. One's a rising/setting sun, for example. |

There are some pictographic qualities to the installations, though in many cases there has been damage and so the arrangement we see is not what was originally created.
There also appears to be a connection between the form of the Sleeper structures and their function. The disks and arcs appear related to stars and fortified installations (Enclaves, Oruze, Checkpoints); and distinguish themselves from other structures (hangars, engineering stations). This modularization parallels T3 ship design (the disk is the "hull" - structures attached to it are "subsystems").
We can invent relationships between elements ad nauseam, however. A great deal of the difficulty derives from limitations of the game interface. Forensics, paleontology, astronomy, yada yada yada, would have cleaned up many questions about who is older than what, is J-space in the Milky Way, is something going on with time, etc.
Huge Tangent: is there any evidence to suggest humans were not alone in New Eden when they jumped through the EVE Gate? The ring of shattered stars very much resembles a perimeter defense - perhaps to keep something out; or, to keep something penned in.
