I am kicking around the idea of re-subscribing my indy alt accounts, and getting back in to the swing of things.
I shut down and tucked away my POS some months ago. Imagine my shock and annoyance to find that some corp has decided to squat at MY moon location. They have a small POS up, no shield, no structures, no force field, just a dead POS.
Now, I could look around for a new location (no available moons in my current home system), but that is a major pain, and I hate hauling all the indy stuff. (The other guys in the corp are not much into indy, so it is my issue.)
I am debating just dec'ing this squatter corp, but it has been a long time since I organized a POS bash.
The stats say a small POS has 1 million structure HP. I am also reading that the POS has 99% resists on hull.
Does that mean that an unpowered small POS has 100 million effective HP? |

IIRC the resists aren't there, since it's offline.
few hours and a cap-stable Oracle/Abaddon and it's gonna be gone.
OR, evemail the owner and see if they'll take it down. |

Thanks.
If I do re-start my indy accounts, I will try the diplomatic route first. |

Don't bother, a small offline POS is the work of a few hours with a single BS.
If you ask them in advance, they might turn the thing back on after all, then things are a pain.
Or look around the same system from a similar offline POS belonging to a corp with only a few members, likely indicating a corp that collapsed and never took down their POS. Then there's no hassle with an active corp showing up halfway though your AFK cap stable armageddon bash. |

I agree that talking can be a waste of time now and then, but given that if I simply dec them, they still have 24 hours to fire it up. BTW, the corp in question is indeed only a few members, and part of no alliance.
Also, I am more than a little confused on the timing. With my skills, and assuming I did it solo (which I would not, my guys would like a little distraction now and then), I could generate 800 plus DPS with an Oracle using non-faction multi-freq's. If the offline small POS is indeed only 1 million HP, I estimate that should take a little over 20 minutes. (1200 X 800 = 960,000). But you are the second to suggest it takes several hours.
I am concerned with the math now. |

20 minutes for the HULL ... it still has 100% shields, and 100% armour. the only thing it's missing is the big forcefield that would allow it to go into reinforced after you got it down to ~25% shields. |

When offline they also have their base shield resists with two holes, but no shield resists from hardeners.
Without the force field, one can also use high DPS short-range weapons and ammo, all drones, and fitting tank is optional.
As Velicitia mentioned, the tower will also not go into reinforced mode when offline. |

As a high-sec POS bash requires a wardec, there's also a chance they will pull the thing down as soon as the dec hits in order not to risk the asset.

Hi sec POS. Not many small corps will put up a research POS in low sec, unless it is far off the beaten path. |
