@ mothermoon
I believe the Myriad is Gallente,
I mean look, its symmetric and acutally looks like it wont fly apart when it hits the warp button. So its obviously not minmatar.
Not painted gold so not Amarr
It's Symmetric so not Caldari.
Therefore it's Gallente.

hmmm ...
sorry but these ships look in no way "eveish"
Mentor Battlecruiser ... Amarr has Tormentor, Providence, Impel .... do we realy need another ship that looks like a bug? Are Amarrian the new insects in EVE? Do we hide someting under the Hood?
Oblivion Battleship ... again a bug and this time in battleshipsize
Ah well just good that i have started to cross train

On the subject of this contest and actual implementation
I'll try to keep this short and sweet to avoid a tl;dr.
By operating this sort of contest in the first place, an expectation for delivery has been created among the player base, and we expect CCP to deliver it quickly.
If the waiting period goes beyond one expansion cycle, a fair few people will start to doubt that it will ever happen, and the PR value that would be gained from operating this contest in the first place will be lost, while bolstering the trend of distrust people have in CCP's ability to deliver.
It's important to get the contest winners out as quickly as is reasonable, if you want to take steps to rebuild the playerbase's trust in CCP's ability to deliver. Pushing it too fast could also create problems, but generally speaking, the sooner you can get the art assets and ship blueprints for them into the game and in player hands, the better the PR impact will be. It's a good opportunity to rebuild at least some lost reputation.
On a tangent to that, keep up the war on lag; that is the most important of CCP's current, known initiatives to rebuilding player confidence.

Liked the Mentor from the beginning, suggested that it replace the lizard head Harbinger.
Would prefer the Mentor become the #1 Amarrian BC, and buff the Prophecy a bit to make it flyable, as no one flies it when they can get into a Harby.
Just finished Heavy Pulse Laser II training, bring it on!

Dig the winners, can easily see them flying around our 'verse.
Oblivion seems to me more forward thinking than the first place winner, and in that I agree with the previous post what said something akin to "why no second place for the T3 submissions? They designed the subsystems and all". The kite was one of them, don't remember the others right off by name.
We're ready for more T3s. Bring em on.
The next wave should look a little out of place/advanced being ahead of a 'verse in tech that is already well teched out. Ships on planet should have a backwards/less advanced feel. As is the nature of technology. (ie the Myriad. A little clunky looking, but in line with it's planet to cosmos industrial role. read the description.)
All in all thanks for the follow through. Was just wondering if there were indeed winners for this contest, who they were, and if indeed the goal was to take a player's submission and actually put their creation in-game. When you finally get around to doing this it will give a ton of loyalty from your subscribers.
It would have given us the players more trust if the runners-up were actually one from each nation, like you laid out in the rules. Don't set rules if you're just gonna break them. (this was part of my problem with the Jinx t-shirt design rules, but thats a different story) And seriously? Did one person win two second places? I hope this is a typo, or they have different last names with the same initial. 'Cause if not, this just really isn't cool to all the other brilliant talent that submitted.
Next time I personally will try harder in my own designs. The level even the runners up were on were a good bit advanced from my own submissions. Now we have a design level to shoot for from player submissions. I'm setting my personal bar a lot higher from this.

Awesome job by all these entries.
But the runaway winner for me is the sublime Amarr Command Ship. That is the kind of quality of design for a new TV show!
Hope to goddness we see these designs ingame, plus more CCP designed counterparts for the other races. (Its long overdue that we had complete new ship lines anyway).

I voted for the Oblivion and the Serval, and I'm glad they got top spots. I was actually hoping the Serval would get 1st. The Myriad was interesting, and I didn't much like that Amarr Command ship-thing, as it's only got two nice profiles and looks way to bottlecap for me. Never voted for the Mentor, but I did consider it, such that I'd call it second choice to the Oblivion. It's a good choice for 1st, and I hope it makes it into the game.
Actually, I'm hoping the Oblivion, Mentor and the Serval all make it into the game
