If a jump bridge is protected by pos guns, is it safe to assume that there can't possibly be a drag bubble to catch me in it as the guns would kill it in seconds.
What I'm gettiing at is if I jump into a system and see 50 reds that I know arn't attacking the moon where the next jump bridge is, can I just warp to it without a risk of getting killed.

General rule of thumb is its best to have a ping spot 250k or so above the pos you can warp to before you warp to the bridge, so you can check it out.

It is possible to enlarge the grid and put a bubble 300 km away from the pos where the pos can't reach the hostiles and their bubble, while you would be sucked into the bubble, if you warp directly to this bridge.
And, btw, posed don't shoot the bubbles, only ships which place them. If a dictor isn't asleep, he'll manage to drop his probe and get out. ───────────────── <3 logistics |

Talking so much ****e its unbelievable.
Drag bubbles only work upto 99.99km, any further and you do not get dragged. Even from the front.
Bare in mind though, a T2 large bubble is 40km in diameter...so if he manages to anchor it so the edge of the bubble is <100km, the other 39km will still be able to drag you, effectively dragging you to 140km rather than the 100km.
You can not stack bubbles either, so having another bubble behind that will have to effect.

Edited by: ilammy on 16/04/2011 11:54:31 I made some testing a few months ago. For the static mobile warp disruption fields that is absolutely right, they pull the ships only if the warp-in point is closer than 100 km (or 150 km, I was lazy to test accurately, but over 100 km clearly) to the edge of the bubble.
But the bubbles, launched from interdictors and heavy interdictors, pulled ships without paying attention to the distance from the bubble to the warp-in point. The 'warp ray' and the bubble should intersect and the warp-in point together with the warp-exit point and the bubble should be in the same grid for the ship to be pulled.
CCP haven't answered my petition yet, and there was no stuff about it in any patchnotes, so I think they haven't changed anything. ───────────────── <3 logistics |
