Hi all,
Just a question regarding supplementary skills in missile control. I've taken them all to level 4 and doing the math it's going to take me around 6 weeks to level 5 them. By supplementary skills, I mean things like Rapid Launch, Target Navigation Prediction etc.
Is it worth it?

It depends on what you're actually doing.
Flight time/velocity doesn't need to be upgraded if you're, say, using standard missiles while flying around at ECM/long point range. But using assault missiles or trying to snipe npcs before they reach you in missions it could be worth it.
Target nav prediction is a useful skill for any situation where you use the efected missiles, I'd probably add it to your skill plan. Likewise, rapid launch is handy for any engagement lasting more than a couple of volleys.
You also have the question of priorities. I'd take all your other relevant support skills to 4 before coming back and putting things to 5 for pretty much any skill that's not a prereq for something you want. Navigation, defenses, etc. ---

Whats your goals in life? Carebear till you die in caldari ships? If so...hit em. ROF is your dps, never a bad thing. Target naval...helps kill moving targets. A vital skill to making frigates go away faster (if you go tengu...you don't fear the 10 bs in the room....you fear the 2 web frigates that stop you dead in your tracks that are with them lol).
PVP (current or future)...you will be going guns (for caldari as well, fleet bs ='s rokh). If your ratter/mission runner is working well enough for you, work on the pvp skills and guns. My last time in 0.0 I got a raven to decent ratting ability with 4's then turned to guns and worked well for me anyway.

Thanks for the replies, I probably should've clarified a little better. I spend the lions share of my time in a Wormhole and my priorities are PvP first and Sleepers second. I guess I'm split between using HML's on Sleepers and HAMS on visitors to our area. I'm kind of thinking Rapid Launch and Target Navigation Prediction are a necessity and the others less so, under the circumstances. Would that be an accurate assessment?

I trained the range skills to level 5 when I encountered w-space sites with sentries out of range of my Scourge Fury missiles (which have less range than T1).
I trained the rest of the skills to 5 because I spend nearly all my time in missile ships, especially a Tengu these days (T2 heavies are the only T2 weapon system I have trained).
The only skill I'd not recommend 5 on is Warhead Upgrades. At least not until you start to run out of other things to train.

For mostly PvP? Yes, that's what I'd say. You can deal with the range gap by pulsing an MWD or something, not a biggie. ---
