Is there some correlation between asterod signature radius, and their ore content, or is it completley random?

Not sure about the sig radius, but their model size is usually some indication; bigger is better.

Im pretty sure the sig radius resembles the amount of ore the asteroid held when it first spawned.

Someone once did a study of this, but sadly I don't have it bookmarked. Try EVE-Search.com

Amount of Ore based on Asteroid Radii: Data and Observed Relationship
Thanks!
His findings say there's a correlation betwen the signature radius and the number of ore units in the asteroid, rather than a correlation between the signature radius and the amount of m3 of ore in the asteoid?
If so, then even relatively small Jaspet or Kernite asteroids would be attractive because there's much mining in them. Or have I misunderstood things?

just get an orca or roqual and scan with one of them, 60KM range easy peasy cause i know roca gives a bonus 500% range and on a 15KM scanner thats 90KM range total
