This may not be the place to ask this so feel free to move it.
I gave my 2003 corp away but still own most of the stock, kinda want it back and was wondering since I am still the major stock holder can I forcefully take it back?
To be clear, I am no longer part of that corp and there is no way to get myself or an alt back into it so I assume I am pretty much SOL but want to be sure.
The corp was founded by one of my alts and has members in it but all have been inactive for years, I started playing again last September and regret giving it away.
Thanks for any input. |

If they truly are inactive and you still have the toon that founded it you could make a petition with it to perhaps get it back, no guarantee though.

No chance of getting it back using a petition, I had a similar problem at some point, had majority shares and corp was full of dead alts that didn't log in for months... Petition was given back saying that there is no chance for GM-ing a way back to the corp.
Basically - if it's a corp that is unfriendly you can try getting in using alts/spies/whatever other in-game means, or just kindly ask the current ceo to give it back, if those are not possible, you won't get it back.

I still have the account that founded the corp, I'm posting with one of it's alts, I filed a petition and will wait but doubt I will get it back.
My old corp, as well as every toon on this account is pretty much worthless, all they have that's kinda cool is their birthday of 2003. |

Considering its been 8 YEARS I don't think you deserve to have it back. No offense.

You won't be able to petition to have the corp itself back, even if the accounts were inactive there is the question of isk and other assets belonging to the corp.
I'm not sure if it would work but your only chance would be to petition that the name be freed up for you to use, however even then I doubt it would work and it would still mean starting a new corp, same name different creation date.

Just make a new corp with a very similar name. ie if corp was "Kitten squashing incorporated" you could try a name like "Kitten squashing incorporated." just add the dot at the end.

None taken, I gave the corp away only months ago, 8 years ago I was CEO and still playing the game.
I looted and robbed the corp before I bailed out, I was out of game for a few years and needed ISK so the corp has nothing of value left in it, 2 toons were left in corp when I came back, the toon I gave the corp too was there almost from the start and could have accumulated allot of stuff and ISK but have no way to know, that toon most likely gave away or sold everything before she stopped playing, the other toon was fairly new so I'm sure had next to nothing, so I feel the corp is monetarily worthless.
The name of the corp is not what holds value to me, it's the founded by date that I would like to have back.
My petition is "In action" so may get an answer soon, I expect a "LOL yer funneh!" but will push hard to get it back as I feel it is abandoned.
I know I have a better chance of winning the lottery and buying CCP out than getting the corp back, but want to give a good effort at trying though.
One perk I have now, if you can call it that, is that when I dropped my corp and fell into an NPC corp I lost my employment history from 2003 till that day, I tried to get it fixed but say they can't..? Something about being a CEO from the get go way back then and dropping out now..? I guess it's kinda cool to show only several months of employment history but in actuality have many years. |

According to the EULA the devs can give your corp to whoever they like to regardless of game mechanics.
My main was CEO of a 0.0 corp a few years back, I had to leave the game but was determined to come back, I locked down all the bpo and had all the shares so what could go wrong right?
when I got back 8 months later I found the corp dead and gone. Turns out that active members petitioned my inactivity and lied to ccp saying I was never coming back(ccp never mailed me to ask my status)so CCP created shares so my directors could vote a new CEO. They then set about unlocking all bpo and left.
There are no failsafes. CCP you ****ing suck for doing that to me. Even when I petitioned it you just ****ed me off like it was too much like hard work.

Oddly enough all of "my" stuff that I kept in corp hangers for others to use was untouched all these years later, that I remember having anyway.. ;) BPOs are gone and all the ships used for corp duty as well but that was expected as it was the corps to use and do with as they pleased. The Directors I had no longer play Eve but would love to have them back, good honest guys.
I won't be too bummed if I don't get the corp back as it is just a game, plus I've grown too lazy to run one properly and can't find anybody to run one for me. It was an indi corp and we mostly mined and manufactured, don't think the truckloads of ISK is in that now like it was back then with macro miners flooding the market. |

Received an answer today, in a nutshell CCP will give me back my old Corp. My alt will be placed back in the Corp then he'll initiate a vote, 24 hours later he'll be CEO again, I assume in about a week to ten days it will be over and done.
I'll be sure I give it to my toon this time as everyone else is gonna get the boot.
Thank you CCP if you're reading this.. :) |
