Recently I became concerned over people discussing what I did online especially when it came to my EvE account.
I won't go into the detail's but what is happening is people are using a program called Computer Cop which can monitor your every post on the internet even while gaming.
I proved this by running a copy of Computer Cop my own PC. After inputting the various alert criteria I ran a few days without checking on the document's viewed portion.
When I returned to the document portion of the program There was a conversation that I had had with a member of my corporation.
You would think that the program would have been filed the discussion under log chat and would have been located in the log chat section of the document's. Not true. The chat logs were the first recorded event to appear in the document's.
So it is possible for hacker's and date miner's to use the Computer Cop program to 'listen' to anything that you do online.
The program even recorded my login time and password.
I don't know how well CCP can protect against such intrusion's but if you feel like your account has been hacked and cannot locate a source in your computer then most likely a program like Computer Cop or similar propgram is being used to monitor your activies.
Another way to determine if your account is being hacked is that you have to use the secondary identification process of inputting another character on your account.
This would mean that someone has tried to login into your account from a location that the server's do not recognize as being the normal login IP for the account.
To counter these types of hacks try using legal IP cloaker programs that mask your online activity.
I have discovered that once you activate your Ip Cloak that the Computer Cop Program is not able to track your online activity.
If you do decide to use the IP Cloaker perhaps CCP could establish a new database of cloaked IP's. The player would send the IP's to CCP that are being used to cloak their real IP so that a login verification match could be established.
If any of the IP's that are used to connect to the login screen are not part of the database. The person's IP address is banned until the correct IP address during login correlates to the IP addresses stored in teh Secondary Security Protocol Login Session Databank.
Just another way of keeping EVE Online from becoming the next victim of hacker's.

Keyloggers aren't really new. Also, YOU installed it, it wasn't installed remotely by a random hacker.
I'm not sure what you mean by ip cloaker, but I assume that you mean some sort of anonymizer (proxy thingy). These will not prevent keyloggers.

On a serious side note, there are many companies that sell commercial key loggers that pay off most, if not all antivirus companies not to detect their products fyi. ISpyNow is another one that will get past most antivirus software, or at least used to. - - [SERVICE] Corp Standings For POS anchoring

You know, security is just as strong as the weakest link, and CCP cant protect people against themselves.
If people start running dubious software on their own computer such things are truly bound to happen! You are suprised that the program you installed snapped up your logintime and password! Im not really when you installed such a program! Maybe the program even uploaded your information to the internet too, and sent it to its creator? If so, they now have your password and loginname...

So, you installed a keylogger on your PC, then (shock horror) it logged what keys you pressed?
Thanks for sharing.

This has to be a troll.
You can't cloak IPs, you don't even understand the basic functionality of routing in the great world wide network called the internet.

Idiots
If my heart bursts
It will be with fury
For every idiot that lives
Inflicting the death on us all
We name them under our breath
Call them all the wasted words
Under the sun and
Still they breathe
And if my footsteps cover
The trace of harm in others
May they call my number
And give me my due
Justice is a figment in menÆs minds
Only God in longevity may hold their gaol keys
but God, God, God
The tears fall and fall and fall
I donÆt know why idiots rule us
Their heartlessness has no limits
If we are the slaves of idiots who are we
But greater fools?
If but one day I could cut one down
It would infect my bloodied hands
With the stench of their disease
As sick and cruel as any of their kind
And given the knife, the place, the time
I could give no assurance of not joining their tribe
Because their blood is mine
And it flows in idiocy through us all
So weÆll bomb and slaughter
Make the rope too long, kidnap and torture
WeÆll squabble about right and wrong
And melt ice caps and sing our nationsÆ songs
And if you and I never meet in the middle
To hold up our children and see
And if my heart doesnÆt burst with fury
It will stop and melt with guilt and sadness

Once everyone gets one of those little tokens they gave out at fanfest (I think) you could practically post your user/pass on the forums and nobody would be able to get on your account.

OKAY. That thing about "Oh i hate stupid people"? It's an adolescent way of self-servingly declaring yourself not to be one of them. It's more annoying than idiocy. Maybe it's a kind of idiocy. Please stick it somewhere uncomfortable for you.
As if you'd do well in a world with a lower amount of idiots.

Battle.net (AKA World of Warcraft) accounts can have those same things attached. It doesn't make the account impossible to hack, but it makes it very difficult. I know a lot of people who play WoW and most have them. One or two have gotten hacked, though.

This is true, and what is worse once people who have authenticators get hacked, accounts will get perma banned cause its assumed you where actually using some sort of illegal service :< Since these Authenticators are supposed to be so super safe ...
I mean really , i would never buy such and authenticator , People shouldent waste money on it either unless its your job to hunt and download keyloggers on purpose........... AGAIN what i said in another thread

Well, to be fair...it does help with account security to an extent, and the smartphone app is free.

To some extent , but in the case of blizzard it has costed alot of people their accounts.
Cause if you allready got problems with account security, This wont be any kind of safeguard, possibly for people who actually completly randomly get hacked (One time accidents can happen)
But would need to see a statement from ccp saying they wont perma ban Authenticator accounts before its wise or safer in anyway.
