I can sum up the content of this thread with one word:
DOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMM!!!!!!!!!!!!1111111111111oneoneeleven
At any rate, CCP has teams working on things individually. Content (incarna devs dunno the name), bugs (team best friends forever), etc. etc.
So to say that the bugs and issues aren't being addressed is invalid. They are. At the same time CCP isn't stopping content development. Companies can do both you know. _______________________________________________ "If you want to taste the ground, feel free to attack." - Kenshin Himura

Well, delayed local isn't exactly a new concept any more. People have had a chance to get used to the idea of local being handled differently (WH space). When CCP first announced that there would be no local in WH space, aside from a few (some might say visionary) proponents, the general consensus was that care bears would avoid it like the plague because of that one factor. Now that it has been proven to be viable, the concept of local working differently is widely accepted (though still hotly debated).
The community accepting the reworking, or putting a different spin on, established features is not the same as how they react to completely new aspects of the game.
Don't get me wrong, I acknowledge your point. I would consider it to be more a case of being overly blunt as opposed to being insincere.
I disagree with both of your points.
Start a thread advocating delayed local anywhere in k-space and you'll get a plethora of replies complaining about how that would have far reaching detrimental effects on current gameplay, regardless of the proposed accompanying changes to d-scan etc., and how w-space experience is irrelevant to this approach. Now that's fear of the unknown.
In contrast, Incarna, especially it's current 'feature' set, evokes completely different kinds of concern. As already pointed out in this thread, players are 'afraid' of bugs and performance issues, utter lack of gameplay, and immersion breaking that will come with removing the hangar view. All of these a perfectly known and predictable problems. ...

This is pretty lol. 'people being afraid of the UNKNOWN' .. I'd rather say that people are afraid of the 'known'.
You know, i'm a reasonable guy, and am trying to give CCP the benefit of the doubt when i can. I know they are a team of motivated individuals who trying to do their best. Things like Incarna however, walking in space bs, that are strategic decisions. Online gaming is down the drain atm (in general) and investor pressure trying to get the numbers up is forcing CCP in making this avatar crap.
Back to beginning of my post. I think this community knows ALL to well what this all could lead to and such statements are imo just an insult to this community.

What do you know... "Cancel subscription cancellation Your cancellation is still pending, while your subscription hasn't expired, you can cancel your cancellation to keep playing" ...and it's been that way for a while now. Last cash payment I made was in early February 2009. That's almost 27 months ago.

Q:A lot of players have voiced disdain for Incarna as they think it's detracting from EVE as a space ship game. What would you say to them?
A:People are afraid of the unknown -- that's really what it is. We saw a lot of aversion to the new character creator as well, until people saw it. Then they said, "Oh yeah, so that's what they're building. That makes sense. Now I like it." People are afraid, I think, of change
I is not afraid. I think the new character creator is 3rd party outsource crap compared to the original. Sure it's shinier, but it's also more generic, and you don't have nearly the ability to deviate from standard 2011 human facial anatomy as you could previously. Shiny crap is still crap.
Quote:
You might not be able to hear my because I dove under the table in terror when i heard the Incarna word. butNo. We are not afraid of change.
PLEASE CHANGE THIS GAME
Please change the bugs, please change the lag, please change the big list of things the csm have presented you with a list of.
And most of all please change your patronising attitude.
Not to bothered about the wombling in station thing, you can leave that out if you want.
amen.

You all are doing it all wrong. CCP seems to add and change things that people don't really want or care about. Yet ignore the things that the player base want fixed or changed.
So..
-CCP please do not fix anymore bugs -Leave FW alone -Low-Sec doesn't need any improvements. -Large scale fights doesn't need anymore resources. Those resources should be used to power Incarana and Sims in Space. -Hybrids are fine -0.0 is good and enough amount of space is usable to support its current population. -The current POS system while ancient is sufficient and looks awesome. -The balance of income between high/low/null is extemely balanced and reflects the risk/investment vs reward. -Tech is inline with all other moons, especially those within its same rarity and even with those that are more rare. -There are no bots, all those players are at the keyboard for the 23/7 they are online. -CCP your direction you are trying to take this game is perfect.

im convinced that CCP devs are a deluded bunch. this Incarna BS, nothing interesting at fanfest, and Zulu's moronic comments have led me to cancel my sub for now anyway =S
all the unfinished features, unbalanced ships, stagnant nullsec and FW makes EVE a bad game in my eyes. until they do a once-over of all the old features, there's no point burying it under more useless crap.

To everyone saying "But they have Devs working on it already, what should we do with them?", there is a simple solution.
Have them STOP.
Stop making utter **** no-one wants, and get them working on things We DO want. It's not that hard. I know it's really hard to not clone WoW, but Eve did a good job until now.
